2018 Out-of-State Players to Watch

TX WR Jalen Preston reached out to OSU recently. Impressive offer list.

Jalen Preston hoping for an Ohio State offer
In the 2017 recruiting cycle, Ohio State went to Texas and signed five of the Lone Star State’s best players. Now, the biggest names in Texas are reaching out to them. The latest to express interest in the Buckeyes is 4-star wide receiver Jalen Preston, the country’s fifth-ranked wideout in the 2018 class.

“Yes, sir, I reached out to them,” Preston told Land of 10. “(I was) just asking them if they have interest in me. I showed them my highlight tape and they loved it.”

2018 New Jersey Linebacker Robert Snead Looking to Show Everyone What He Can Do

RobertSnead.jpg

Remember the name Robert Snead. Although he is unranked in any recruiting service so far, I have a feeling that his recruitment will start to pick up this summer. He is impressive on the field, and off of it he is constantly working to get faster, stronger, and better as a football player.

I had a chance to speak with his new head coach Greg Russo, who used to coach at New Jersey powerhouse Paramus Catholic as the offensive coordinator. He knows a thing or two about getting kids to the collegiate level, having coached the likes of Jabrill Peppers, Rashan Gary, and Drew Singleton, just to name a few. He admitted that those kids really didn’t need the help of the coaching staff to get them attention, but that isn’t the case for most kids.

"Not everyone is going to go play at (Michigan) or Ohio State," he told The Ozone. "If you have four of those kids in your career, that’s probably a lot."

While Snead does not currently have any offers from any FBS schools, he has been reached out to by a few programs, including Ohio State and defensive coordinator Greg Schiano. He has also had contact with Alabama, Penn State, Rutgers, Michigan, Syracuse and Wake Forest.
