Out-of-State Players to Watch

WARE-HUDSON TALKS RECRUITING
Oregon has been a favorite of 2019 defensive end Keyon Ware-Hudson for a long time and so when the Ducks recently offered it was definitely a big deal. Tennessee and Louisville were the others to offer in the last couple weeks.

“Oregon was a dream school since I played with the I.E. Ducks so we’re going to visit sometime in May,” Ware-Hudson said. “They’ll be a top school.”

As it stands now, Oregon, USC, UCLA, Alabama and Ole Miss are looking strong early in Ware-Hudson’s recruitment. Florida State and Ohio State have been showing the most new interest.

2019 ATH Mershawn Rice
Town: Reynoldsburg,OH/Reynoldsburg
Size: 6’2/165
Offers: Kentucky
Thoughts: “The trip to OSU was a great experience. We got to see the facility and watch the practice. What stood out to me was the Team Up North Period. We talked to Kevin Wilson, and I spent most of my day with Ed Terwilliger. They were telling me to keep working hard, and keep your head on straight and don't mess up for yourself. And as far as I know I'm being recruited as a safety. I will be making another trip to OSU later this year.”
2019 DT Justin Britt
Town: Indianapolis,IN/Warren Central
Size: 6’4/270
Offers: Indiana
Thoughts: “The trip was awesome. I got to see a lot of things like the trophy room and the stadium. They also allowed us to go in the locker room. Coach Meyer brought us into his office to talk to us. The thing that stood out the most was the team up north period. This is when they play last season’s highlights from the Michigan game on the screen and the team starts to cheer. The period allows the team to raise the intensity of practice. They said that they were interested and that they wanted me to go to some summer camps.”

2019 DE Beau Robbins
Town: Carmel,IN/Carmel
Size: 6’5/225
Offers: Indiana, Bowling Green, Central Michigan
Thoughts: “It was a great visit. I was very impressed by everything. All of the facilities were very nice and watching the practice was really fun. I also got to see the stadium and go out on the field which was a cool experience. I talked to Coach Coombs a lot. We discussed developing a relationship and visiting Ohio State again in the future.”

2019 OL Julius Buelow
Town: Kapolei,HI/Kapolei
Size: 6’7/292
Offers: BYU, Hawaii, Oregon State, Utah, etc
Thoughts: “The trip to OSU was great. When we flew up to Ohio last week I had no idea I'd have an opportunity to tour the football facilities, meet all the coaches, and walk in the stadium. I did a campus tour first. It's huge but they made it seem smaller with how all the buildings and classes are arranged. I like the atmosphere of both the school and football department. It was a great trip and I hope I get to came back up for one of the camps.”

Can Ohio State ‘Steele’ a UCLA commit?

“My dad is from Ohio,” Steele said. “I also have a family member, Paul Campbell, who played at Ohio State a while back. He’s been planning on flying me out and taking me on a visit. Plus (Davis and Woodbey) talked to me a lot about the program.

“I have talked to them a couple of times and have heard they’re really interested in me. They want me to go down there so I can meet the staff and get a feel for the school.”
