P Andy Groom (National Champion)

No I have to say that Tress would be an improvement for the Skins' offense. They are awful. Gibbs shoulda never come back

Tis good to see Andy gettin some work. Nice punts too. His leg is gonna be sore after tonight though. Never seen a worse offense.

If Joe Gibbs never wins another game, he'll retire (or get fired) satisfied. If you asked him what his ideal situation would be, wouldn't it have to be going into Dallas and stcking it to Jones, the Dallass fans, Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt, and Parcells all at once? Could life get any better for him?

Exactly! Gibbs is on Cloud 9. He even showed it by celebrating wildly when the game ended.

I was impressed with the Dallas run defense, as they really did bottle up a (sorry Skins fans) overrated Portis. It's too bad for them they made Santana Moss look like Randy Moss, though, and that's pretty hard to do. Jones is a nice back, but Dallas couldn't get TDs, and the Skins D is as good as advertised, though they got less pressure on Old Man Bledsoe than I thought. Great win for the Skins, though, as I said before.

Did anyone else pick up on these assclowns (sorry again Skins fans) introducing themselves as being from "The U"?

Whatever.

Redskins Notebook

Groom Waived; Frost Is Signed

By Jason La Canfora
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, September 27, 2005; Page E03

<NITF>The Washington Redskins' search for improved special teams led to another roster move yesterday as rookie punter Andy Groom was waived and free agent punter Derrick Frost was signed.</NITF>
<NITF>Frost spent 2004 with the Cleveland Browns, appearing in 16 games and averaging 40 yards per punt. He put 24 punts inside the 20-yard line.

Punting is an area Washington is looking to improve upon after surrendering field position in the first two games. Groom made the team out of training camp after veteran Tom Tupa suffered a season-ending injury, and he beat out veteran Chris Mohr for a final roster spot, but did not do enough to solidify his hold on the job.</NITF>
<NITF>"We felt like we were kind of backed up there [on field position]," Coach Joe Gibbs said of Groom. "It was just an evaluation we made."</NITF>
<NITF>Groom averaged just 39 yards per punt through two games, however -- second worst among the 32 starting punters in the NFL -- leading to the change. Frost had a difficult tenure in Cleveland, however, and drew the ire of fans when his seven-yard punt led to a loss to Baltimore on a Sunday night last November.</NITF>
<NITF>"It's kind of a black eye," Frost said of his prime-time shank, "because in this league you're only as good as your last punt. So I'm really, really fortunate for this opportunity."</NITF>
<NITF>The Redskins have been trying to improve their special teams for years, and have already switched specialists several times. Return man Antonio Brown was cut after fumbling a kickoff in Week 1, with running back Ladell Betts and receiver James Thrash handling those duties now. Kicker John Hall was injured in Week 1 and missed the game in Dallas, prompting the Redskins to sign rookie Nick Novak (Maryland). Hall was unable to practice yesterday and has not kicked since getting hurt late in the season opener, but has not ruled out playing on Sunday.</NITF>
<NITF>"I kicked a few imaginary balls today," Hall said. "Tomorrow, I'll hit a couple of Nerf balls and hopefully Wednesday I'll be able to kick real ones."

I guess Gibbs didn't get the memo that Frost SUCKS!!! I was hoping the Browns would cut him for Groom last year. Andy needs to figure out how to kick the NFL ball like he did the college ball, but if I remember correctly he wasn't the best at killing the ball inside the 20. It doesn't matter if you kick the ball 60 yards if it only has to go 39.

Not overly impressive: (The two Ohio State guys (Andy & BJ) aren't doing real well)
