SKULL SESSION: MICHIGAN IS ABOUT TO GET DUMPED, DRUE CHRISMAN REFLECTS ON HIS SPRING GAME PROPOSAL, AND NICK BOSA WAS DOMINANT EVEN IN A LOSS

NERVES OF STEEL... KIND OF.
Drue Chrisman's been about as clutch as it's possible for a punter to be.

I mean, he was the no-doubt MVP of Ohio State's win at Michigan State in 2018 and threw an absolutely perfect pass on a fake punt in the Big Ten title game. The dude seems pretty much impossible to rattle.

Unless he's proposing to the love of his life in front of over 100,000 people.

"You get rejected in front of 100,000 people, national TV, you might be entering the transfer portal at that point."

I feel you, Drue. You'd like to think this wouldn't happen and that you know for sure she's going to say yes, but there's a reason there's an entire YouTube genre of rejected marriage proposals. And that one... That one would top the list for an eternity.

LET'S LAUGH
As if there was ever any doubt, it looks like Drue Chrisman and fam are going to get us through this through fantastic social media #content.

If I were in a scenario where my life hinged upon a human tossing toilet paper through a mini basketball hoop, I'm quite certain I would choose Drue Chrisman's mother as my champion.

OHIO STATE PUNTER DRUE CHRISMAN CELEBRATES SOCIAL DISTANCING WEDDING AMIDST CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

113115_h.jpg

COVID-19 can't stop true love.

When Drue Chrisman proposed to his longtime girlfriend Avery Eliason in front of over 100,000 fans at Ohio State's spring game last April, he probably didn't imagine his wedding amidst a global pandemic.

But they made it work.

Over the weekend, Drue and his bride officially tied the knot despite social distancing measures taken throughout the country. But don't worry, if their extremely appropriate wedding photos are any indication, it seems they took all the proper precautions.

This love story was years in the making, unfolding before the eyes of Buckeye fans across the Internet through social media, viral videos and a collection of custom t-shirts.

We now eagerly await Drue's "I ♥ MY MORMON WIFE" tee at this year's camp check-in.

Congrats to Drue and Avery Chrisman. We all wish you a long, happy and healthy marriage with no shortage of bottles to flip.

YEAR IN REVIEW: OHIO STATE'S TOP PLAYS OF 2019-20

6. DRUE CHRISMAN COMPLETES FAKE PUNT PASS TO LUKE FARRELL VS. WISCONSIN

With Ohio State trailing 14-0 and in need of a momentum swing in the second quarter of the Big Ten Championship Game, Ryan Day reached into the bag of tricks and made a gutsy call to attempt a fake punt pass from Ohio State’s own 26-yard line.

Had the play been unsuccessful, Wisconsin would have taken possession in prime position to take a three-score lead. But Ohio State punter Drue Chrisman – who had never thrown a pass in his Buckeye career, but did play quarterback during his freshman year of high school – executed the trick play to perfection, rolling to his right before lobbing a downfield throw to Luke Farrell for a 21-yard gain.

Even though that drive ultimately ended without points, Ryan Day said after the game that he thought that play gave the Buckeyes a needed boost that ultimately led to their 34-21 comeback victory.

“I felt like we needed a spark at that moment,” Day said. “We practiced it during the week. Drue actually throws a pretty good ball. Always want to be aggressive. We felt like we had it. We felt like we needed it at that point. Kind of had to get a spark going. And I thought that gave us a little juice there in the first half when we needed it.”

SKULL SESSION: JACK SAWYER EMBRACES EXPECTATIONS, JAYDEN BALLARD IS UNDERRATED, AND DRUE CHRISMAN TOPS A BOTTLE FLIPPING CHALLENGER

STILL THE KING.
Any attempt to usurp Drue Chrisman's bottle-flipping throne is a futile endeavor, and our champion proved it yesterday, boldly besting a pesky challenger.

It would seem that @Kjento07 underestimated Chrisman's powers, using a mini water bottle and a running clock to top The King's number by a mere one flip. I doubt it will happen again.

Drue Chrisman diversified his repertoire of bottle flips by participating in a new trend.

Just sayin': Since he got married, you would think he'd have something better to do in his spare time than flipping bottles.....:biggrin2:

Can Drue Chrisman keep flipping field for Buckeyes?
There was a weird sense at times last year that Drue Chrisman wasn’t delivering at the same booming clip that he had established previously in his career. But the numbers don’t really bear out much of a slump for the senior punter, who actually helped Ohio State boost its net average by nearly three full yards — while continuing to show off a remarkable ability for pinning opponents deep with 18 more attempts downed inside the 20-yard line.

Maybe it’s just that the standards are so incredibly high for Chrisman that it seemed like there were a couple more yards he could squeeze out for the Buckeyes, or perhaps it’s just the outsized expectations that come with being a social-media, trickshot sensation. Either way, Chrisman had earned the right to flirt with leaving early for the NFL. And if he takes another step forward this season, he might just solidify himself as a worthy of a draft pick.

Will Crall: Drue Chrisman will punt even less for Ohio State
The offense is far too powerful to have much use for a punter, even one as good as Drue Chrisman. So the veteran will punt less than 40 times this year. Chrisman is entering his fourth year as the starting punter and has been a consistent, steady presence for the Buckeyes. Over the last three years Chrisman has punted 51, 61 and 46 times respectively. I believe that he would be a top contender for the Ray Guy award, but because Ohio State’s offense is so good, he will not get the opportunity to showcase his talent very often in his final year with the program.

DRUE CHRISMAN COMPLETES HIS EPIC T-SHIRT LOVE STORY DESPITE CANCELED CAMP CHECK-IN DAY

The COVID-19 pandemic may have canceled Ohio State's camp check-in day, but Drue Chrisman isn't letting it cancel his t-shirt love story.

Congrats to Drue and Avery. Here's hoping your marriage is long, healthy, and brings you at least as much joy as bottle flips and custom tees.
