247 $ - Pryts Excited About Ohio State Offer

2/23

By Gleitman....Offered by Coach Fickell, who he has a great relationship with. Visiting Virginia this weekend, Ohio State in March, Alabama in April, Stanford in June and also wants to visit Penn State, Wisconsin, TTUN & Northwestern. Grew up a Penn State fan & his father played for the Nittany Lions, but is keeping an open mind when it comes to recruiting.

Is the offer by Fickell an indication that the staff sees Pryts as a LB at the next level?

Possibly a walkout LB is Marriotti puts 15-20lbs of muscle on him?

That's MY opinion. I think he would be a guy that's best in coverage up to about 15-20 yards out, keeping things in front of him and attacking downhill. He's a really good tackler with good instincts and good athleticism to spy & play underneath. But I wouldn't want him turning and running with a WR.

PRYTS CONTINUES TRAVELS, REMAINS HIGH ON OHIO STATE BOARD
The vibe from Happy Valley is that Penn State, long thought to be the frontrunner, may not be as confident as they once were and Notre Dame's staff doesn't appear to be feeling great about where they stand, either. Stanford, with their unique blend of academics, athletics and location could throw a wrench into things but the Buckeyes feel confident that they've got the lead and feel a decision could come as soon as the next few weeks. Pryts isn't a big talker, so don't expect much in the way of dramatics prior to any decision being made.

Bottom line? It'd be foolish to count Penn State out of this race, but Tuf Borland was a "lock" for Wisconsin at one point as well. The parents of these kids are not pushing them towards any school other than the one that is the best fit for their son. It remains to be seen if Ohio State will land Pryts, but after talking to people today, I'm following Wiltfong's lead and have predicted they do.

I personally don't see him as a college S, he reminds of Worley and Bogard, and I can see the staff putting some good weight on him and playing the walkout LB after redshirting a year. 6'1 215-220lb OLB who can run with TEs and hit in space would be ideal against spread offenses. That's just my 2 cents...

Starting to like this kid more and more as I read more about him and watch tape. Seems like a guy who will more likely be a solid starter than a star, but he also seems like one of those kids who is a pretty sure bet to reach his potential.
