I am really loving the total lack of respect that our rivals' other teams' fanbases are giving Day and his staff. It's almost like they assumed that once Urban left, tOSU would become some middling team, struggling to get 3 star recruits and becoming bowl eliglible. Just because that's what happens to them when THEIR coaches leave......

Considering Day has 3 games as a college HC to his name, his recruiting chops have been pretty [goshdarn] impressive so far. The only reason fans are even slightly underwhelmed is because the man he replaced is arguably the greatest college football recruiter ever.

Ehhh I don’t believe for a second Saban could pull the same classes if he weren’t in the SEC. Urban could probably go back to Utah and still get stacked Top 5 classes.

Bottom line is Saban is the best recruiter of this generation (and that’s no knock on Urban.) The consistent top classes year after year are what separates him. Never a down year. Reloading defined. And the rest of that is is hypothetical. There’s no telling what Saban would do NOW outside of the SEC but I have a hard time believing that recruits wouldn’t follow wherever he went with his reputation.

Let’s remember, Bellichick wasn’t on many a coaches level when he coached the Browns. He’s not the GOAT?

I dont think anyone is debating Saban is recruiting better than anyone else. I think the contention is how much of that is because of his own charisma and reputation and how much of that is because the world wide leader is a constant cheerleader for him and he has access to better bagmen than 99% of the college world and no local media willing to do a hatchet job on him.
