Per a tOSU announcement reported on the O-zone. This is a road game for us, in Happy Valley. Based on the starting times, it looks like PSU is accommodating a broadcast on either ESPN or ESPN2.

Football: Ohio State has announced that the game verses Penn State on October 8, will be played at night. The time could be either 7:00 or 7:45 pm. The contest will be the second night game for OSU in 2005. The Buckeyes will take on the Texas Longhorns in Ohio Stadium on September 10, at 8:00 pm.

Is this a direct result of the new AD? I remeber hearing Geiger saying around the Northwestern game a few years ago that would be the last Big Ten game in the shoe.

I assume you meant "the last Big Ten night game in the shoe". Besides, this game is at Penn State, not at home.

"Hmm, didn't realize how close my parents were to Penn State... that might be a nice weekend to be a good daughter."

I was worried about this game before, now it's a no brainer. Do we need to go down the list of post-bye week trouble we've had lately?

Wisconsin and Northwestern have made this game their Superbowl's the past 2 years, now PSU latches on to their only hope and makes it a night game, fucking great. :mad1:

Ye gods -- lets get a grip.

Its Penn State post Y2K we are speaking of here.

Till proven otherwise I am going to assume they are no worse on Defense, yet no better on offense than they showed last year.

Happy Valley is and was always a tough crowd. Though, I don't believe the collected Nitanny alumni particularly relish night games themselves -- it gets to be damnably cold up on that hill.

I checked the historical weather for State College on Oct 8, the average high is 63, average low 44. Add a breeze to mid 40's and no sun and it's quite chilly.

The worst part of this is PSU is in BFE. When the game is over it's gonna be around midnight. You have to drive hours to get to a real city. I think Pitt is the closest big city and it's almost 3 hrs away. With a normal starting time you could drive back to Columbus by around midnight.
