Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

In all fairness, the last post you quoted about Spanier not helping the victims came from getmyjive11, who is probably the most hated poster on BWI. Getmyjive11 routinely get slaughtered on BWI and labeled as a BoT shill/ass-kisser because he has a conscience and routinely says it was Joesus and his minions that effed the university by not doing anything to stop the abuse. The detectives over on BWI may not have been able to track down Tug Speedwell, but they did post pictures of getmyjive11's house and had a good laugh among themselves about his air conditioner window unit.
Getmyjive and Route66 are the same guy? I thought they were both posting at the same time before Route 66 got run off the board.

I was pretty sure that the field goal attempt was only four seconds after the play clock ran out.

It's one of those stories that gets embellished by even more each time it's told.
Kinda like the story of Joey Bosa "nearly taking Hackenberg's head off." He pulled the mask up, but I'm pretty sure that the story has become that Bosa pulled the helmet off, took a shit into the helmet, beat up a couple of nuns before making some double-amputee war veteran eat his own boogers. Classless.

Stupid son of a Mark May...

https://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threa...ege-football-alabama-ohio-state.192065/page-2

So Penn State and Michigan fans are arguing about stupid stuff, and I'm thinking that the Michigan fan is right. Why do I hate the cult so much?!?

I distinctly remember media "darling" status when Penn State joined the conference due to JoePa's run during the 80s. So much so that more than once PSU fans notified Big10ers that Penn State would be running the conference. The Big10 taught the nitts that it would not be so.

Another myth perpetuated by the insecure, irrelevant, arrogant fanbase in Ann Arbor. Other than isolated Penn State fans somewhere and the idiot Bob Griese, there was absolutely NO groundswell of opinion that Penn State would "come in and dominate the conference." Penn State was a clear national power when it was invited into this corrupt league in 1989, and your boy Bo, perhaps the most overrated coach in all of sports ... ever, rightly saw his perch as #2 behind the Buckeyes endangered by the new team from the East. Hence, the requirement that Penn State wait for 3 years (initially it was 5 ) until 1993 to start league play.

So what did your precious Big Ten "teach" Penn State?

1. That the whole conference is alive to serve Michigan and Ohio State
2. That Professors Honig, Lemonier, and Witvoet would revolutionize the role of officiating in league games
3. That Penn State would not be treated as an equal the way the ACC treated FSU or the SEC treated Arkansas
4. That midwest regional support for Penn State would be non-existent
5. That through scheduling, media, and administrative authority, Penn State would find itself living in the Iowa and Michigan State neighborhood rather than in the penthouse reserved for UM and OSU
6. That no matter how great a coach one might be, if he were not coaching in Ann Arbor or Columbus, he would never get a fair shake (here you can also refer to Nick Saban, who had to leave for the universally acknowledged power conference of the SEC to win multiple national titles)
7. And that the most arrogant group of fans anywhere on the planet wore the urine and blue of Michigan ... a program so powerful that it managed ONE SINGLE undefeated, untied season from World War II through 2017. One. Penn State had 2 from 1968-69 alone ... then added 3 more. It would have been another in 2005, but your boy Dave solved that one.

The Michigan fan responds to each point, a couple of posts later.

Here are my responses (in case you care).

1. Yeah. Iowa just accidentally won the other day. They've agreed to give their bowl payment to Ohio State.
2. Ha! Put your tinfoil hat back on.
3. We hold hands with Penn State as much as we do with Michigan State, Illinois, or Wisconsin. Never. Go cry into a pillow.
4. The Big Ten does not tell anyone who to support. If you want media support or AP votes, don't whine to the Big Ten. Maybe you just aren't likable.
5. I don't know anything about "administrative authority" - whatever that means. But I just spoke to the media part. And scheduling: every team thinks they get screwed now and then. Again, put your tinfoil hat back on. Your crazy is showing. Also, you're in the Iowa neighborhood because that's who you are. Win more games and you can be in the penthouse.
6. Name a "great" coach besides Saban. (The Michigan fan mentions that Saban couldn't recruit to Michigan State.) Saban used Michigan State as a stepping stone to the SEC. Who wouldn't? Maybe Paterno? Fair shake my foot - the guy was known for running down officials and whining to the media. The officials never made a call against Penn State "because he's Paterno".
7. I'm not defending Michigan fans for being arrogant. The Penn State fan is right on this one. Except, dammit!!! I wish I could find the video on youtube that shows clearly that Lllllllllloyd was right to get those 2 seconds back on the clock. I hate defending Michigan, but I guess that's what superheroes like me are forced to do sometimes.

When the peds were invited, Ohio State football was in its worst place since 1950. Unfortunately for them, it snapped out of that down period in 1993, their first year in the league.

And every pedster that I knew thought ped state would dominate the league. They also expected JoePed to be allowed to become de-facto commissioner of the league so that he could install "success with honor" throughout the Big Ten.

I guess that Penn State took out a lot of their starters, but Nebraska kept theirs in. Totally classless act, according to the cult. Huge crime against all that is good in college football.

Reminds me of when Michigan State handed off to an offensive lineman who scored a touchdown. "I didn't like what the other team did, so that makes them jerks!"

 listening to Penn State fans right now talking about if they can make the playoffs or not, if Barkley would come back, and McSorley's NFL prospects.

Update: "Our offense will be just as good (next year), even without Barkley."
That's probably true, since Barkley's backfield antics and yards lost countered the few homerun plays he made. Any downhill runner could end up with the same YPG/YPC average as Barkley.
