Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

They have a point. Buggering little boys and paying assistant coaches market-based salaries have always been equivalent crimes. My goodness.

Not just assistant coaches. Joesus worked for way under market value for decades so the money that could have been paid to him was used to stock the library with classic literature (none of which mentioned man-boy sex) and fill the creamery with saintly peach ice cream.

Exactly. It had to be more than just "he didn't cheat and graduated his players." It morphed into this whole sick thing where he had to be presented as a perfect human being. Can one really be shocked that he refused to allow it to become public that a pedophile had been operating within his realm of perfection, that he wasn't perfect and that his program wasn't pristine in every way.

Exactly. That's why I like 2006 pants-shitting event so much. Really, it should be, "He shit his pants, so what? He's got the flu." But, in fact, it's "Joe doesn't even shit, you lying idiots!"

Also, the attitude managed to permeate and spread beyond Paterno. Every bad thing ever done by a Penn State fan was a false flag Pitt fan in disguise to make them look bad- the video of Penn State fans throwing beer cans at Ohio State fans being a primary example.

The perfection of Joe Paterno made anyone loosely affiliated with him incapable of doing wrong.

So the cult's takeaway from Ohio State not being listed in the basketball scandal is not that we don't cheat. It's that we fired Thad because he wouldn't cheat.

Makes sense. That’s why we hung on for so long. Plus, that makes all success under him even better compared to Penn State, who always had miserable unsuccesses in basketball, with honor.

Then, we went out and got a coach who we knew would cheat, from Butler...

Who isn’t tied to any of the current mess...

Brilliant!
