Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

The last 8 minutes of the last year's game were glorious. Bucks down 13, whiteout crowd screaming out of their minds, Bucks take over on their own 4 yard line. Then "we" rip their hearts out for the second year in a row. Crowd shots of the sad pandas in the closing minutes were orgasmically awesome. Franklin's genius run play call on 4th and 5 was a real head scratcher. Ripped. Their. Hearts. Out.

Yeah but there was a holding in the 1st quarter that went uncalled so Penn State actually won that game.

It's not just the missed penalty, but the timing of it.
It was quite impactful. We went on to punt, but they took over at their own 10 and had to punt back, to which we had to then punt back. And then they punted and we scored. So.....call that holding and we don't score any points and they win 107-0.

You're selling the butterfly effect a little short. They also would have gone on to beat Clemson for the NC.

You dumbasses are prattling along about the excuses that their dipshit fans make but have failed to relive the glorious moment that their own coach said that Ohio State was elite and just plain better than them. I mean, other than the actual victory itself, it’s hard to imagine anything better happening than their own coach telling them that Ohio State is a better program than them

2006 (I was there, it rained a lot).

You guys are slipping, you got the year wrong!
You're right of course.

I googled it and I'm sure the YouTube said 2009 (can't find that now so maybe I can't read), and I'm thought to myself, that makes sense since we play them in Columbus in odd-numbered years. But there was a back-to-back in Columbus on 2010/11 that threw that off, so before 2010 the games in C-bus were in even years.

Big Ten always screwing Penn State.....making them play in Columbus 2 years in a row.

A top-10 national recruit that lives 90 miles from their stadium committing to Ohio State at least partially in response to those comments?

Well...He committed to Ohio State because the substance of those remarks are factual. If the kid is elite, then obviously he wants to attend a school with an elite program. He probably sees the same thing Franklin does...that PSU is a good/great program, not elite.

I was being a bid pedantic --- no worries on the difference.

OLD FOLK like me remember that OSU played at PSU in both 1994/1995. So, the odd/even cadence is back to what it was in the very first two years of the series.

That fact seems to have been lost to BWI.

He called his program "great", and that they needed to make the next step to becoming "elite". Mark Packer spent the following week making fun of him for that. "Don't try to tell us you're great. We'll tell you when you've become great. You aren't great."

He had a chance to really win some points, in my book, when he tried to ice the Southern Georgia State kicker a couple of years ago. Down 56-0, South Central Georgia College of Fashion Designers decided to try to break the shut-out by kicking a field goal near the end of the game. Franklin calls a time out. Why? "I didn't know if my fourth string field goal defense was going in there or the fifth string field goal defense." Yeah, I'm exaggerating. But that's pretty much what it was. He could have / should have said, "Shut outs don't come around very often, no matter who your opponent is. Our guys played hard for 59-1/2 minutes, and I wanted to reward them with a shut-out."
