Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

I think more than anything, what they are not used to is not winning 95% of their games. Entitled fan bases tend to complain a lot about referees on their losses. Buckeye fans included. These clowns just still feel entitled to win all of their games in spite of making a huge jump up in class of opponent upon joining a conference.

And Paterno continued to whine about the refs constantly right up until his last year, so the younger fans certainly had a source with which to absorb it even after their so-called glory years were long gone.

Another "let's leave this conference" thread.
After some reading, I'm guessing that this one is because the Big Ten somehow got to choose to make Penn State go to the Cotton Bowl instead of the Rose Bowl. HA.

It's long been enough, over and over again, starting in 1993 or 1994.

My theory is that the best way to leave is to leave on top. Win the conference two or three years in a row, and then promptly leave the conference. That's the only way to even start getting back at them for their antics. And it's not enough.
Have they ever won back to back big ten titles? Even shared ones?

MacNit07, I agree. YOU should go ahead, take the lead, set the example, and leave now.

I would do it on a New York minute. Be playing in the ACC with an annual game with Clemson to go to CFP.
Lololololol

What would Joe do? I am sure he would drop out of the conference and give up tens of millions. You would then complain about the new conference. Can you name the mythical conference that loves PSU?
we know that Joe thought it was a mistake. It's been documented that he started looking into whether we could get out around 2005.
So when he couldn't win he wanted to take his ball and go home? If their desired move wasn't to the acc I'd be all for it, but I'd still be stuck dealing with those cultists.

Someone reconcile for me the Cults claims about him not really being in charge about Sandusky with his apparent power to unilaterally change the conference affiliation of the entire athletic department.

Refs, during games. Yeah kinda.

I dont think that's the same thing.
I comment a lot about officiating in the middle of game threads.
I cant ever recall blaming officiating for a loss afterwards. We always have a chance to win it. And overcoming adversity (perceived or real) is a character building moment that reflects on the team' story any given season. We also get our own breaks like Wilson' false start.
Even in the middle of the game, it's not some conspiracy that they're out to get us. More a feeling of incompetence, or conference tendency to ignore certain calls (holding) across the board.
In a general sense... and i get this with NFL and neutral games... a feeling that a lot of officiating crews want to be the star of the show a little too much.
It's a very different approach than BWI believing they only lose because of the officiating, that there's a conspiracy led by Delany to keep them down, etc.

How about winning the conference more than once every 6-7 years? Ohio State has more outright conference titles in the last three years that the Pedsters have in their entire 26 seasons in the conference for football.
