Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

You don't think Emmert got wind of that statement at the time, and now Lubrano and McCombie are filing nuisance appeals and threatening to pull the ncaa into a legal battle.

I find it very interesting that the ncaa hasn't quickly swatted down these two idiots' appeal as they did with the Paternos. My hunch is that something is going on behind the scenes. Something perhaps along the lines of organizing a conference call with the 18 ncaa directors.

It also could be that the NCAA acted so swiftly to see how bad the cultists would behave afterwards, or if they'd take the punishment. They may have understood this would happen, which would give them more time to gameplan a much more suitable punishment.

Or they may have just been trying to help the new cats at Ped State out to move forward and they didn't figure on the cultists being as vocal as they are still.

First, they don't themselves have authority to act on behalf of the university as they are not a quorum.

That's the same argument I think they're trying to make against Erickson signing the consent document - there wasn't a quorum there so he didn't have the right to sign without board approval...

There is one more possibility - they ARE on the board of trustees, but they don't support the decision (since everything is voted on). These guys are new trustees, and they don't want the cross burners in their yard blaming them for voting to agree to the sanctions.

So, to clear their names, they're putting up a fight.

Nahhhhhhh....they're crazy.

And they'd be right..

If he wasn't already authorized to act because of his being the University President, or assuming ORD's remarks, owing to his having authority consequent to an executive committee session.

I wonder what the rational side (it's small, but there is one) of the Ped Aggy alumni and fanbase think of this lunatic. I mean, he really is batshit crazy. Fucking certifiable. I'd bet, given the opportunity, he'd gladly fellate the corpse of dear leader...probably toss some salad, too.

The deciding factor was the magnitude of the sanctions," his father, Mike Bradshaw, told ESPN.com. "With the loss of scholarships, PSU will be competing in the Big Ten against some of the best teams in the country with 65 scholarship players. The class Zach would be a part of would really bear the brunt of the sanctions."

Oh yes no one is leaving ped state because of violations. I was hoping that it was Hackenberg though.

I really need to go back and find out who the two here were that were adamant that there would be little fallout recruiting-wise. PedState may not even be able to fill their 2013 class...

They will...it'll just be with the kind of kids that they're currently backfilling their 2012 class with. In other words, kids with no other Div 1 offers.

Let's face it. They'll be able to fill any available scholarships that they can give out, with 1AA talent.

They will be. Wofford and the Adams Atoms won't be able to hold their classes together once Barney O'Rubble turns on the charm.
