Personal Opinion VS Personal Judgement

For someone who professes to not give a shit what people on the internet think, you sure do keep coming back a lot to defend your own honor.

So a humorous one-liner equates caring what people think?

What gives you the right to piss people off? Or is everyone else wrong again? Funny how that seems to be a trend already. So you'll be fine if I walk up to your mom and say her makeup/outfit makes her look like a whore? Nothing wrong with that right? :roll2:
Right, we should all go around telling everyone how what they say & participate in is disgusting. That should make for a really productive community, huh?

I have the right to say whatever I want, you react however you want to it. And you CHOSE to let that piss you off. And again we have apples and oranges. Someone disapproving of an internet thread is not the same thing as walking up to someone's mom and slandering her. And I guess answering a question with a bunch of lame jokes that only you laugh at contributes positively to a community atmosphere?

Sorry, you're contradicting yourself. Obviously you feel entitled to run your mouth with anonymity on the internet, but it doesn't change the morality one iota. Maybe I leave her unsigned notes on her desk at work instead.

Maybe she does look bad, or maybe I merely say that her outfit is disgusting. Either way, I'd be a real tool to think I have a right to say anything when I want to.
And I guess answering a question with a bunch of lame jokes that only you laugh at contributes positively to a community atmosphere?
Oh I see, you're back to scolding us again... you sure do that a lot.

How are you allowed to piss off anyone you want, but we're not allowed to chastise you for it? You're brimming with inconsistency.

You got it backwards: everyone except you was laughing.
Also, your post makes absolutely no logical sense. Either people have the right to say whatever they want or they don't. What kind of medication are you on?

No, you jackass, you DONT HAVE A RIGHT to SAY whatever you want. You have a right to have an opinion about whatever you want. It isn't the same thing.

Not that you furnished a complete sentence there, but, yes, a humorous one-liner can convey a rich panoply of emotions. These might range from scathing sarcasm to warm praise. This is what is known as wit.

Which, sadly, you lack -along with tact, good humor and commonsense.

Disagree, at least somewhat... Around here, people can not only have an opinion, but express it freely, so long as it doesn't break board rules (personal attack, etc).

But in exchange, no poster gets to control the reaction to said opinions... so considering the probable reaction ahead of time can be a useful exercise. Interestingly, you can usually speak against the tide around here with no problem whatsoever, so long as it's done with a modicum of diplomacy. Say, by not insulting the people to whom you are speaking by implying that that they are disgusting. Just a general thought as I haven't been following the thread where this started and I only skimmed here.

Deety, I respectfully disagree. I don't expect everyone to agree with us, nor do I think we should censor people, but to use an extreme example here, Jeffcat, you can't say exactly what you think/feel.

I don't think PennState has done anything against the rules, but I think he should have lurked a little more and gotten to know us. I was lurking for like 3 months and came in expecting the worst.
