Ohio State recruiting: Buckeyes played host to Derek Funderburk Jr

wouldn't be too surprised if we offer Derek early next year. doesn't seem we're getting a '14 big besides Bell and the staff are probably gonna shoot for a one-and-done quality center in the 2015 class to help right away after Amir and Trey graduate. would be nice if we can manage to mix in another 2015 big who is a multi-year player; a frosh Funderburk could end up the perfect complement to them and/or an upperclassman Bell.

OSU hosting Funderburk tomorrow (along with Jae'Sean Tate and '16 Detroit PG Cassius Winston).

considering our future lack of big men, i'm certainly not opposed to an early offer happening. i think Funderburk is good enough and could be a T50 player in the class if he continues to grow/develop.

Would there still be room for V.J.King ?

I'm not sure what the scholarship situation will be like in 2016 but you always find room for VJ first and foremost and then you worry about getting other guys in! Funderburk clearly seems to be one of their main priorities though and no offer has been made to Spellman yet by OSU, just a good amount of interest and the recent visit from Paulus.

I would think that there would be room for all 3 of these recruits +1. Go here to see available scholarship breakdown by year
