PF Kyle Young (Official Thread)

a high ankle sprain could take a couple weeks or a couple months. returning by the ncaa tournament is certainly possible if it's not too serious. the complication here, though, may be that the staff has been concerned for a while about reaggravation of the stress fracture on the other leg. this ankle injury only increases that likelihood.

as noted, this is kyle young we're talking about. i have little doubt that he'll fight for a quick return if it's possible.

"pretty significant" means kyle is screwed, the Bucks are screwed, we are screwed.........where's my booze and beer?

I can't see where they would risk any further injury to Kyle. It just isn't worth it.
Kyle is my team MVP!

Kyle Young
Last season:
6.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 67.2%, 16.7%, 58.3%, 20.5 minutes

This season: 7.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 58.5%, 15.4%, 65.6%, 22.9 minutes

Young hasn’t been nearly as efficient around the rim as a season ago, but he gets valuable minutes as Ohio State’s glue guy. But he hasn’t played at 100 percent since having a stress fracture in his right leg last seasn. That injury still lingers, along with missed games

kyle highlights how stats don't tell the whole story. the numbers are marginally better this season, which is in part due to the 10% increase in minutes, but he's had a (much) bigger impact this year.

as far as the efficiency around the rim goes, i think the decreased shooting percentage is mostly or completely due to young taking more difficult shots. he'll never become a deshaun thomas, but the variety of his attempts has expanded.

Nice stat line comparison, but stats don't begin to tell the whole story.

The way he scores, when he scores, the hustle plays, the tough guy plays, his court awareness is so much better than it was last year......it's all the little things he does that makes this team so much better. Hopefully he is able to contribute some in the post-season.
