PF Othello Hunter (Maccabi Tel Aviv BC)

Catching up with Hunter

It's not the NBA, but Othello's current playing location in Sassari (city of the Italian island of Sardinia) is a nice spot. His club Dinamo Sassari is new to the top league in Italy (played in the 'B' division last year & were promoted in the offseason). While a relatively small club compared to the traditional Italian powers, Sassari enjoys good organization & backing with their parterniship with Ford (Forza) Italy (pic above is Othello & the team issued rides)...they were able to sign James White, Travis Diener, & Hunter for the step up in level..all players with past NBA experience.

They upset Caserta on October 24 in the second regular season game to win their first ever contest in Italy's top division.

Sassari came back the following week & won their first road game off a James white dunk at the buzzer! (2-1 on the season so far)

Looks like he's doing well over there, and it beats the shit out of a lot of other jobs in other places. Good for him! :osu:

Shandong brings in Alan Anderson and Othello Hunter

Coming off of a disappointing season last year where both Rodney White and Myron Allen failed to live up to expectations, the Flaming Bulls will bring in two new players this year, Alan Anderson and Othello Hunter. Anderson, a graduate of Michigan State, played a couple of years with the Charlotte Bobcats from 2005-07 with a stint with the D-League?s Tulsa 66ers mixed in between. Since then he?s played with teams in Italy (VidiVici Bologna), Russia (Triumph Lyubertsy), Croatia (Cibona Zagreb), Israel (Maccabi Tel Aviv) and Spain (Regal Barcelona). Last year for Barcelona, the 6-6 Anderson won MVP of the Spanish National Cup.

Hunter, a 6-8 forward out of Ohio State, played two seasons for the Atlanta Hawks in 2008-09 and 2009-10. He?s played for two teams in Europe, of Dinamo Basket Sassari in Italy and of Ilisiakos B.C. in Greece.
