Othello Hunter will sign in Italy with Mens Sana

Othello Hunter will return to Italy after his season with Dinamo Sassari and will sign a contract with Mens Sana Siena, a source told Sportando. The big man has been in talks with Sidigas Avellino several weeks without finishing the deal. Montepaschi Siena entered in the negotiations and agreed with Hunter for next season. Hunter started last season in Spain with Valladolid averaging 13ppg and 6.8rpg. Then he moved to Jiangsu in China where he averaged 23ppg and 13rpg.

Othello Hunter (6’8”-C-86, graduated ’08, plays pro in Russia) led his Russian team CSKA to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Anadolu Efes (10-5) 102-84 in the Euroleague last Thursday. He scored 13 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. CSKA Moscow (10-4) is placed third in the Euroleague. Hunter’s team will play only one more game in the Euroleague Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Hunter averages 8.6ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.1apg in 14 games he played so far. He is a naturalized Liberian.
