An Aaron Craft Update

Former Ohio State point guard Aaron Craft has signed with French basketball team AS Monaco, just days after celebrating with his college head coach Thad Matta and a number of other former Buckeyes.

For the last couple years, Craft has been playing overseas, first in Hungary with Szolnoki Olaj, then in Italy with Aquila Basket Trento. Last season, Craft was a key leader in Trento’s postseason run.

Craft is already listed as a starter for AS Monaco. He is one of two Americans on the French squad, which went 31-6 last season in French League play. The team is in the top-tier French basketball league, and participates in the newly-established Basketball Champions League, a group established by FIBA for European leagues.

Un warrior sur le rocher!

Hope he gets room and board. Monaco is a crazy expensive place to rent an apartment.

Posting the below in a few of the players' threads in the hope that more people will click on these and vote. Craft is a member of the OSU Alumni team for The Basketball Tournament, and there is a fan component where if they win and enough of you different BKBs vote USING BN27s LINK BELOW then BP may be able to win some money off of it. You get to cheer on Buckeye alumni and potentially make money for BP for doing nothing... sounds perfect, really.

Well the deadline is coming up, and I know the bosses are busy.....so here's a link to join and vote for The Scarlet & Gray. It will give me points as a recruiter. If they win the whole thing, any money that "I" win will be donated to BP.

Aquila Basket Trento offers Aaron Craft a contract extension

Professional basketball in Europe is not like the sport is in the NBA. Players rarely sign long-term contracts and bounce from team to team, often going from country to country, during the offseason. But former Ohio State point guard Aaron Craft has a chance for some stability this year after Aquila Basket Trento of Italy's Lega Basket Serie A reportedly offered him a contract extension.

“We are waiting for his response” general manager Salvatore Trainotti told Il Corriere del Trentino. “We want to keep him. We made him an offer and we have to wait (for) his decision. A lot of teams are interested in him but we are confident we have extended him a tempting proposal.”

Craft is in his second stint with Trento after playing for the club during the 2016-17 season. He returned to the club in November and was named Serie A defensive player of the year.

Kind of a loose application of the otherwise incredibly anal retentive regulation of content on this site...
