PG C.J. Walker (Official Thread)

You know, I wanted to disagree with this statement because Kaleb is so valuable and Dwayne has had some key games, but I think the past 10 games or so, I'd probably have to call CJW the team MVP.
I do not think that I would go that far because without KW this team would really struggle. I know that he drives me crazy when he misses little bunnies around the basket but is rebounding and scoring cannot be overlooked and he really played really good defense yesterday. Walker might be playing like an MVP but he certainly is not the team's MVP and I do not think it is even close.

well, next year's team is now fully walker's. given how how he finished the season, i'm optimistic and confident about next year's backcourt.

while having another uber-talented point guard for next year would be nice, i'm reminded of the football maxim about having two quarterbacks sharing snaps.

We need another guard.........possibly a combo guard with experience.....

i agree that a combo transfer makes more sense than a true point-guard transfer. fortunately, we already have the kind of combo we "should" be looking for in washington. too bad muhammad's handle isn't better... or much better. i don't at all trust his ballhandling and decision-making. he really needs to focus this offseason on fundamentals.

We could be okay if CJ stays healthy but to Buckguy's point about Luther, I would feel a lot better if we add someone eligible who can handle the ball and facilitate. CJ goes down and the backcourt is just going to be very deficient in those fundamental areas.

I honestly think Rich Kelly would be fine for that role and as a bonus he's a good shooter, at least at the MAAC level.

I love Jamarius Burton but he probably has to sit out a year. Still, that kid is going to be a stud and he would be a HUGE boost to our 2021-2022 lead guard situation, which is looking a tad dire at the moment unless Washington really becomes more of a PG.
