Phoenix Suns (Official Thread)

I've defended Marion a lot, but I'm throwing in the towell. He's great at times during the regular season, but goes AWOL in the playoffs. I don't remember if it was game 5 or 6, but the wide open three that he missed against the Spurs as time was winding down was unforgivable. There wasn't a player within 6 feet of him. That's just one example off the top of my head. My boy Barbosa went AWOL from behind the arc as well. He's young though so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

I don't think, though, that another scorer is the answer. The suns score plenty of points. They need a lock down defender.

I'm really hoping the Suns can work out a deal for Garnett without giving up Amare. I want Garnett, but I think giving up Amare for him would be a huge mistake. Apparently, Marion doesn't want to play in Minnesota so if it happens, they'll probably need a third team.

By the way, does anyone know of a GOOD Suns forum?

I haven't been able to find any active suns forums.

Rumor mill right now is a three way trade involving boston minn and phx. I say get Marion out of here and bring in KG. It sounds like ATL may be pressuring the suns to deal Amare, but I don't think they'll do that. Other than that, I'm not sure what the exact terms of the deal would be but some inside sources are saying its almost a sure thing that the Suns will get KG. The suns are also interested in getting into the lottery. They have plenty of bullets they can use to get one. 2 low first round picks and next year's atlanta picks are among the possibilities. KG could be the final piece we need to beat the Spurs. That is, if they don't have to give up too much to get him.

Latest rumor is the Suns getting rid of Amare for KG. Sounds like a great move considering it was Amare's pea-sized brain that cost them a shot at the spurs. The fact that his stupidity will land him with the Hawks is poetic justice.

imberwolves talking three-way Garnett deal

NEW YORK ? Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett is close to going to the Phoenix Suns in a monumental three-way trade that would send Phoenix forward Amare Stoudemire to the Atlanta Hawks, league sources said Wednesday.

Atlanta would move the Nos. 3 and 11 picks in Thursday's draft, as well as Zaza Pachulia and Anthony Johnson, to Minnesota.

Minnesota owner Glen Taylor has delivered a mandate to his basketball executives to get a deal done, one league executive said.

Yahoo! Sports has learned that the trade would also save the Hawks from an emerging showdown between the front office and coaching staff over whom to draft with the third pick. The front office and coaching staff had settled on Florida power forward Al Horford, but a faction of the Atlanta Spirit ownership group, with business interests in China, is pushing them to take Yi Jianlian.

The deal hinges on Atlanta general manager Billy Knight saying yes, as well as Hawks ownership, which is mired in lawsuits, being willing to increase payroll. It is believed that star Hawks guard Joe Johnson talked to his former Suns teammate on Wednesday and that the 24-year-old Stoudemire, a first-team All-NBA choice, told him that he'd welcome the trade.

Not trying to hate or anything but I have a question:

How is it possible that you're a Lakers, BoSox, Buckeyes, and Rams fan?

what a coincidence...all those teams won titles in this decade.. :roll1:

Damn I think it would be a huge mistake. Stoudamire is worth way more in the long run... you can build around him for the next 3, 4 years. Once Nash and Garnett reach retirement... then what.

Once Nash retires, then what? Then again, Nash is the must overrated player in the league. Any wonder the Mavs actually got better once he left?

Well, I've always been a huge Kobe fan, I've been a Sox fan because they're local and my brother made me one, Buckeyes because of relatives in Ohio and Rams fan because always liking Marshall Faulk.
