Pittsburgh Penguins (Official Thread)

Imagine the Patriots first drive of a playoff game, two defenders decide to dive helmet first into Brady's knee while the other gives him a forearm shiver to the head, knocking him out of action. How do you think the NFL would respond?

In the NHL, they give the guy a few minutes in the penalty box and call it a day. I'm reminded of 1992 and Adam Graves' tomahawk chop on Mario Lemieux. He didn't mean it (of course) but it broke Lemieux's hand. The Pens won the Cup anyway, but that didn't make it okay. But in a sport where they make guys where helmets but still encourage fist fights, progress doesn't come quickly. The knuckle-dragging dinosaurs are still in charge of the game, and it shows.

No Crosby tonight but the Pens gutted out a 3-2 win at home to go up 3-1 in the series. No idea how long he'll be out (concussion), but they'll have 3 chances to eliminate the Caps now. Fuck the haters.

Even if i wasn't a pens id consider this really distasteful.

It's been amazing to me the amount of people who seem to be glad Crosby is out concussed again. Often times saying things like karma, he chopped a guys finger off, or simply how he's a bitch.

Regardless this is the best hockey player in the game, has overcame a lot since first having concussion issues, and while he whines a bit he's come a long way from where he was.

Despite all of that those that are happy he is out again with a concussion I gather just are tired of losing to him. Those cheering his injury need to take a long look in the mirror because it's a GAME and outside of the game Crosby is a good person.

Despite that Pens still win... fuck the capitals and the Crosby haters for that matter.

No tissues for my desire for a Tom Brady decapitation?

Hmmm...starting to have flashbacks to 2013 when the Pens scored a whopping 2 goals in 4 games and got swept by Boston in the conference final.

Edit: But unlike Boston in 2013, the Pens get a late goal to even the series at 1-1. Still need to beat Anderson more than once a game, but it's better than being down 0-2.

Forgot about the game last night I was too busy watching my Tribe. From what I have seen of Anderson, I would trade him for Bob in a heartbeat if I were the CBJ. Of course, Ottawa might have something to say about that.

I'm not sure about that. Anderson has looked good, but the Pens are trotting out guys named Rowney and Ruhwedel now because of so many missing regulars. I'm not keen on the Pens chances at this point, which is where I was at the beginning of these playoffs (check the thread) when I suspected the CBJ were going to beat them. It's been a nice run to get through two rounds, but two more guys were lost to injury last night and they're struggling to break down Ottawa's defense. Gotta get one of the next two games in Ottawa or it's probably all she wrote for this season.

Well, since I was born in Cleveland do not expect any tears from me regarding Pitspuke losing any game in any sport no matter the circumstances. Also, I never for one moment thought that the CBJ had any chance against the Pens in the playoffs.. I just think that they shot their wad in the middle of the season during their big win streak. Go Senators

After the game three debacle, Sullivan made the switch to Murray and the Pens managed to score more than once. 3-2 win in game four evens the series at 2-2.

Back to Pittsburgh for game five, and fuck the Senators. :booyah:
