Miami is gonna have some choices to make this offseason. Wade was a black hole the entire series. Carmelo ain't the answer either.

Actually, there is no choice at all. LBJ is so good, and the rest of the Heat are so mediocre or bad, that he alone could lead any team in the NBA to what he led the Heat to this year--a Finals berth but a ridiculously overmatched team that was crushed in the Finals. LBJ would be crazy to stick around that sinking ship in Miami. Only the most Wal-Mart of Wolverines (themselves the fans of a sinking--or sunk--ship) would be unable to see it.

Thoughts on how many more the Spurs can win. They do EVERYTHING right with a nucleus of old fuckers. Remember, they are a meltdown and a miracle shot by Ray Allen from being repeat winners. Duncan is the most unflappable player I've ever seen play. THE best Coach in the game and the best supporting cast. What they did in the finals was amazing. I attribute the "Wade-Fade" more to their defense than anything else, although Wade has easily seen his better days.

Peace

It's an interesting question. I think they are a Duncan retirement away from falling back to the middle of the pack in the West, IMO. He's that type of player and leader. Mad respect to him.

Someone will pay Mills but I would bet on them replacing him just fine. I believe Diaw is a free agent as well. They're one of those teams that will always be in contention. An excellently run organization - maybe the best in all of professional sports. Leonard is gonna be a gamer for years to come.

Unless the Heat ownership is willing to blow away the luxury tax AND get all 3 of the big 3 to opt out of their current contracts to take half what they are currently making to bring in another star I see they Heat rebuilding next year. I just can't see Wade opting out since he will be giving up money. No one is going to give him more than the 3 years he has left on his current deal at half what he is making now. Lebron would be stupid not to opt out since he can get a max deal from any team with cap space. Bosh could go either way, but if the team is breaking up I expect him to opt out and go elsewhere.

The best deal for the Heat would be to sign and trade Lebron and Bosh to try to get back some of what they gave up to get them. I'm pretty sure they still owe a couple protected draft picks to the Cavs and Raptors. I'm sure Lebron is going to look for his next All-Star team up. Maybe OKC or San Antonio the way he rolls.

I don't see him doing it, but this would be the time to come back to Cleveland because he could make it look like he took the Cavs from #1 pick in the draft to champions in a year. That would take heart, which we all know he doesn't have.
