I am not that knowledgable with computers, but every time I sign onto the internet (I use AOL) I get pop-up after pop-up coming up though internet explorer. There are so many that if I leave the computer for a half an hour or so, then there are about a hundred pop-ups waiting for me. Anybody know what I did to make this happen, or what I can do to make it stop?

Actually when I have a popup, I just stay seated until it goes away.

I ran spyware...it said it didn't find anything. I've downloaded and am running SlimBrowswer and have it as my default browswer. But I am still getting tons of pop-ups opening up in Internet Explorer windows. (I just had 2 pop up right now that I had to close.) I've deleted my Temp folder, run spyware, got a new broswer...but i'm still having stuff pop-up on IE. SOMEBODY SAVE ME! This didn't get really bad until a few days ago.

Go to panicware and DL the free pop up blocker

Then search google for "spyware blaster" and download that

Problem solved

I've got it under control now I think. I like this new slimbroswer thing too. I still can't figure out why all the pop-ups were going though IE windows when I set SB as my default browser. Thanks for helping me out everyone!
