Powlus as UND "Personnel Development"

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2003026

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Ron Powlus, touted as a surefire Heisman Trophy winner when he arrived at Notre Dame in 1993 but never came close, is going to try to help the Irish find their next Heisman recipient.

Powlus was hired Tuesday as Notre Dame's director of personnel development, where he will organize recruiting. The position does not allow him to evaluate players on film or leave campus to recruit, said John Heisler, senior associate athletic director. But Powlus will be allowed to meet with recruits on campus.

"I'm very excited to be returning to what I believe to be the pinnacle of college football," Powlus said. "I've been itching to get back into the world of college football.

"I can be a good resource for what it's like to play college football at Notre Dame."

Powlus had many highs and lows during his five years at Notre Dame, breaking his left collarbone twice during his freshman year.

The next year, the first in which Powlus played, the Irish dropped out of the rankings for the first time since 1986. Notre Dame went 30-17-1 during Powlus' years as the starter.

He set 20 school marks, and still holds Irish records for total offense (7,479 yards), passing yards (7,602), pass completions (558) and pass attempts (558).
no comment...

I haven't pissed Chief off in a while, so here goes: What a crybaby! Whinning in front of 98,000 in the shoe, throwing a temper tantrum at his center, then a year later going chin to chin with Lou Holtz. I think he believed all his press clippings.

Never have been a RP fan so no big deal! Actually it was as much Lou's fault putting RP in his option oriented system. Having said that it is pretty funny when OSU had a player with prettty much the same hype and you guys dog RP for yelling at his center! LOL!!

Anyway what is funnier Beano saying that RP will win a few Heismans or thousands of Buckeye fans proclaiming the same with MC.....

The difference is, RP sucked, while MC was everything we could have wanted, minus a brain.

I will, it's simple. One had talent, the other didn't. One had common sense, the other didn't. There......that wasn't so hard really. :)
I'm assuming you're sayign clarett had talent and no common sense, right? cuz I was not as focused of a fan back when poulus was around and you could be implying that he's even dumber... just asking cuz your statement makes it sound like clarett had common sense if you just read the words...

YA THINK OSU WILL GIVE MC A JOB IN 10 YEARS? WELL THAT ENDS THIS DUSCUSSION!
The Powers at tOSU won't even let him run, if you really want to call it running, a 40 yard dash on campus anymore...

I guess it depends which form of embarrassment you want to compare...MoC is an embarrassment of a human being, Ron Powlus was an embarrassment of a football player...tit for tat, apples to oranges, both truly suck in their own distinctive manner.

God Bless America.
