Hey... Sorry if this has already been posted before but I do not believe it has.
Anyway, I am in High School and obviously I am not married, nor are any of my friends. I personally am still a virgin and have been thinking for a while about having sex with my girlfriend... I know most guys would jump on the opportunity (literally) in about a second but that is just not me. First off there is the whole pregnancy thing (which is obviously not a philosophical musing, more of a risk-reward scenario).

But there is also the idea of saving yourself for one person and then that becomes the most amazing thing ever or whatever. I personally do not really believe that, but both of my parents are really Catholic and so I have grown up hearing that kind of talk my whole life... And honestly, as a 17-year-old, how am I supposed to know? As one who thinks about this kind of thing constantly, I personally worry that I might have sex now and then that ruins some kind of perfect moment/experience forever.

So, that being said, what are your all's thoughts? If you had sex before marriage, did you regret it? What about if you saved yourself, did you regret that?

"You mount the woman, son....or else, send her on to me, huh?"

Seriously, I was with 3 women besides my wife. I don't regret any of it and my wife is better in the sack than any of the others. On the other side, I had a friend who waited until she was married. She and her husband were totally sexually incompatible. It was not good. They finally got divorced over it. If you do anything, ignore the Pope and wrap your Jimmy!! Wrap it double, those things break sometimes and you'll last longer.

It's generally best to wait until you are 18, and then when your girlfriend is 18, have her sleep with an older, established fellow - like a Louisiana attorney, for example - who can then give you advice about how best to approach her sexually, what things she likes, her thoughts on anal and oral, etc.

If you love her you'll do this for her. :paranoid:

A 17 year old kid seeks advice and this is your response? I don't see a "Father of the Year" award in your future. :slappy:

That's YOU'RE opinion.

I think highly of the kid and his girlfriend. I don't want to see their chance at a lifetime of blissful matrimony eliminated by one incorrectly performed Shocker. :shake:

I thought you liked him?

The only problem with having sex at your young age is that you don't know what you're doing. :wink2:

I was 15 when I lost my virginity, and I don't regret it. While I have certainly grown up since then, for 15 year olds, I think we loved each other.... Didn't seem to be any "harm" in it..... seemed like the "next step"

But... I also didn't ask complete strangers for advice. Because you did, it seems to me, the time is not "right" for you.

This is no easy choice man. I didn't save myself, yet I've only been with one woman. We consummated before we were married. I do have regrets because I don't need to pretend I'm some tough guy. I honestly wished I had presented my wife spotless at the time of our marriage. I believe we have had struggles directly because of that sin, and yet God has blessed us mightily as we have confessed and repented our selfishness. I think churches make the mistake of just presenting sex outside of marriage as something not to do (it is) when it could present being only with your bride as the wonderful blessing most of us miss out on. I believe making sex a taboo has had a negative effect on helping young people stay pure.

I'm guessing your parents have never went over Song of Solomon with you. I think you should do some study, but its hard to understand. The relationship between a man and wife mirrors our relationship to our savior. Sexual purity is intertwined with our spirituality as is pointed out through both testaments. Before you make a decision please look at the Song of Solomon. A [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Book-Romance-Solomon-About-Intimacy/dp/0785288988/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236050887&sr=8-3"]book[/ame] that will probably help. I've seen his DVD's. He's a pastor who speaks openly about sex.

how hot would you say your girlfriend is? i mean at 17 she must be pretty skinny at least, so i'd probably say go ahead and hit it. do you really want to get married at 21 or something? what if you don't get married until you are 30? internet porn will probably be pretty boring by then... just saying.

Hmmm...good point.

I thought you liked him?

Nah. He sounds a little too much like Alan Alda to me. Just fuck her, already.
