Pre-Season Selections for Surprise Player of 2005

I think Ashton Youboty will step up next year and play a huge role! Joel Penton is a solid Defensive Tackle and I think he will step up and make some big plays next year! Hopefully we can get Rehring and the rest of the O-Line to dominate!

Very good choices Grad. BTW If we run the spread with 1 back 3 Wr set do you think we can get a LB'er vs. TE match-up alot or does it depend? Thanks grad.
Well if they decide to man-up across the board, you will have a safety on him, but that would play right into what tOSU wants by giving Teddy, SH, and Gonzo or Lyons 1 on 1 looks. I would expect loads of jam cover 3 or 4 looks where the safeties can help out over the top but then that allows an athletic TE, like Nicol, or a speedy back, like Wells in a Bush role, to exploit the middle or at least occupy the safety enough to still get the previously mentioned guys 1 on 1. Basically, in a nutshell without writing a discourse here, we will be VERY dangerous in the spread if the running game stalls again.

I have one more surprise player. Ryan Pretorius is a South African that played high school rugby at Durban Westville Boys High School in Natal. Some people thought he could play for the Springboks eventually but he left the country to play rugby in the UK and then landed up at Ohio State. He is rumored to have an incredible leg and performed well in the UK in rugby. I have been told that he can put it through from 60 yards out.
