Ohio State's college football history sits among the titans of the sport. Now we know exactly where it ranks among the other giants in the all-time rankings, at least according to the Associated Press.

The Buckeyes are ranked No. 1 in the AP's first-ever all-time college football ranking, released Tuesday. Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Alabama and USC round out the top five. You can see the top 100 here.

OHIO STATE NO. 5 IN 2016 PRESEASON AMWAY COACHES POLL

The 2016 college football season sits just over three weeks away so that means it is time for preseason polls that do nothing but provide fans something to argue over before their team's first game.

On Thursday, Amway released its 2016 preseason Coaches Poll. Ohio State checks in at No. 5.

Can't lie I was hoping for around 11. Give em a little more motivation. Still beat OU and that jump will be to #1
Gotta disagree with you a bit on two things:

1.) I don't think this team will be lacking any motivation whatsoever, so starting at #5 gives us less to have to jump...I doubt the motivation would be any more if they started outside #10
2.) Unless we flat blowout Oklahoma, I don't see us jump 'Bammer unless they lose. Unfortunately, the Crimpsump Turd will likely be #1 all year as long as they stay unbeaten...

Actually a really solid coaching poll. Very little I disagree with. OSU over LSU actually seems a little iffy to me but I'm guessing coaches ain't giving Les (nor his garbage QB play) the benefit of the doubt over Meyer, even with 19 starters coming back.

Winner of the Okie - OSU game will either stay at #3 or drop ten spaces. If the bucks lose that game it will be tough to climb back into the top four.

At least Clemson and FSU play each other creating the slot that will keep the South from sweeping the playoff invites. Interesting to note that both schools open and close the season with SEC schools not named Vanderbilt or Kentucky.

Gotta hope that Sparty is good enough to beat ND in South Bend, otherwise the networks are going to be beating the drums to get them in the playoffs. They won't be tested on the road until the last game of their season at USC.

Texas hot seats - Sumlin and Strong could both be gone by season's end.

I disagree. If the loser wins the rest of the games, including winning its conference, I think they're in. On the other hand, if the winner slips up somewhere, especially at the end of the season, they'll likely be left out.

I gotta agree with that. I mean.. I don't know enough about their schedule or the teams on their schedule to agree or disagree with whether they'll be tested. I just hope Notre Dame loses.

I don't know about that. We'd need help though. Either Cheese or Corn would need to win the West after losing to us and Sparty and UM would need to have huge seasons, so that we'd finish up with two marquee wins.
