Preseason predictions (Big Ten)

I am just curious what people think the final standings will look like in the big ten.

I know it is boring offseason stuff, but it is the off season and we need to talk a little more football.

Here is my take:

1) Ohio State (8-0)
2) Minnesota (7-1)
2) Iowa (7-1)
4) Purdue (5-3)
4) Michigan (5-3)
5) Penn State (3-5)
5) Wisconsin (3-5)
5) Michigan St. (3-5)
9) Illinois (2-6)
10) Northwestern (1-7)
11) Indiana (0-8)

Just my opinion.

1) Ohio State (7-1)
2) Minnesota (7-1)
3) Iowa (6-2)
4) Michigan (6-2)
5) Purdue (5-3)
6) Penn State (3-5)
7) Wisconsin (3-5)
8) Michigan St. (3-5)
9) Illinois (1-7)
10) Northwestern (1-7)
11) Indiana (0-8)

I think Wisconsin has the fewest major questions of any team

If their new Qb can play just good, like at Minnesota, then those two teams are going to be pretty good. I might be underrating Purdue because they've got Orton but they lost the second highest number of players to the NFL in the league after us with 14. I'm not sure why everyone is so high on Iowa, I think they are in for a tumble back to reality this year. I think Michigan State will be a surprise. I think Penn State has to do something with Mills, they just have to & I think they will try to send out Paterno on a high note. Michigan has a lot of questions to address but less than us but they visit OSU. Illinois, I don't honestly know a lot about but I thought they should have done better and it's probably do die time for Turner. As for Northwestern or IU, who cares ?

Paterno may very well leave after this year if his replacement is lined up, and they'll be better, but I don't think they'll be better than 5th. I know people will disagree with me on this, but my picks are:

1a) Iowa
1b) Ohio State
1c) Meatchicken
1d) Purdue
5) Penn State
6a) Minnesota
6b) Meatchicken State
8) Wisconsin
9) Illinois
10) Northwestern
11) Indiana
Northwestern comes back to earth, and tub-o-shit Alvarez pulls his periodic 2-6 in the Big Ten again. If there is a year we could see 3 or 4 teams tied at 6-2 at the top of the conference, this is the year.

1. OSU (tie)
1. Michigan (tie)
3. Wisconsin
4. MSU (tie)
4. Minnesota (tie)
6. PSU
7. Iowa (too many losses at skill spots)
8. Purdue (they return NOTHING on D)
9. Illinois
10. NU
11. Indiana

Interesting that the same fans who are introducing a new QB of their own and expect to compete for the Big Ten are down on Wisconsin for having to do the same - even though he and Evans are their ONLY losses on Offense. It is not like Alvarez has not proven he can put a quality team together. Counting the kickers they return 18 starters overall, and of those 15 are Seniors. AND they don't have to play Michigan.

Wisconsin should have all of our attention with the way we've played against them.

OSU, Mich., Minn.,Mich St. and Wisky all have new qb's.

Wisky only has to replace Bollinger and Evans, but they have 4 tough B10 road games. They should be 5-0 coming into the 'Shoe Oct. 9.

Michigan's receivers are going to be great (Beaston is a stud). QB, just the the rest of us is a ?.

Minnesota has a favorable schedule with a great running game.

With our offense last year, there's no where to go but up.
