Hope this is okay? I noticed a few other outside of tOSU had their own thread so I thought I'd start one for discussions and news regarding my Boilers. :)

Great to have you aboard. I have been wondering what was going on in West Lafayette now that Rick Mount has graduated. :)

No worries. Welcome.

We'll see if this thread can remain active or if it needs to be merged with general B10 discussion.

What is the word on Marve?

From all accounts things are looking good. The knee is all good and his arm strength is said to be even better than Brees. He's been working with the recievers alot and the word is the team chemistry with this unit is amazing. I'm glad he came to WL, there's no doubt the kid has a arm and a ton of talent so hopefuly unlike his days at the U he can show us some of it and stay out of trouble.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue senior Ryan Kerrigan and junior Ken Plue have been named to two separate preseason watch lists, the Football Writers of America Association (FWAA) announced.

Defensive end Kerrigan is among 74 players nationally listed to the initial watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy. He enters his final season as a Boilermaker tied for fifth in sacks (21.0) and 14th in tackles for loss (31.0) in school history. The Muncie, Ind., native led the nation with seven fumbles forced and the Big Ten Conference with 13 sacks in 2009. He has appeared in 36 games at Purdue, including 23 consecutive starts over the past two years.

If Purdue gets by ND they could be 4-0 or 6-0 with good wins against NW, UM, and ND by the time they visit.

One thing I know about Tressel and the Buckeyes though is that anytime they were embarressed by their efforts (and last year they were against Purdue) they come back and they get after that team. Good Luck to Purdue though until they visit us.

Agreed. For some reason, Purdue has always been toward the top of my list as far as favorite teams go. Of course, I always hope Ohio State mashes them into the ground, and last year makes it even worse for me. But I hope they embarrass the rest of their schedule, before they play Ohio State.

I'm very interested in that opener with Notre Dame. Should be a good indicator of how good we can expect Purdue to be this year.

I was born in WL and my dad is a Purdue grad so I hear a lot about them. It would be nice for them to start holding their own this year in football until they come here and get their ass-kicking payback from last year.
Marve is a good qb and also a good athlete. It will be interesting to see him in that system. The defense has a good front unit but I have no idea what else they have. Maybe you could help us out.

Welcome to BP, crazedboiler :)

Say, what are your thoughts on the potential for ND to join the BigTen? I figure a Boiler fan may have a unique perspective...

Actualy I'm tired of the B10 waiting on them. I think it would be great for the conference to have a tradition like ND and the extra fan bases and media exposure but I think the B10 comes off looking desperate waiting and almost begging the Irish to join. It's pretty clear ND doesn't want to join for a few reasons so for now the hell with them I say....The addition of Nebraska is great with their football,WBB and pretty good fan base. I'd still like to see Mizzou and maybe even Louisville join. Both are regional and for the most part would be reasonable travel distances for most fans. Plus both have solid football and basketball programs.
