Purdue Boilermakers (official thread)

Props to David Bell on this catch from the rivalry game nobody watched. Incredible body control.

When you say "nobody watched", you mean nobody except the few serious Indiana and Purdue fans, those living in their Moms' basements, and losers with no real lives, right?

Cause I actually watched that game earlier today.

Purdue QB Elijah Sindelar won't return for sixth season

Purdue quarterback Elijah Sindelar, who started the team's past three season openers but struggled with injuries, will not return for a sixth year of eligibility.
.
.
.
Sindelar, who received a sixth year of eligibility from the NCAA in April, already has earned his degree in electrical engineering and had been attending graduate school at Purdue.

Just sayin': Needless to say, he has no NFL career; so it's probably time for him to get on with his life after football.

Well he’ll be doing alright. No longer worrying about concussions and torn ligaments. With a Bachelors and Masters in Electrical Engineering, it’s safe to say that he’ll be doing alright

Yeah, but electrical engineering? Yikes.

Hey, I got EEs in my immediate family. It's nothing I could conceive of doing for a living.

Some of the smartest people I’ve ever worked with were EEs. Smartest ever was a Cal Poly Physics Ph.D. But the EEs that I’m referencing were on the same team with us.

Can’t share details of what we were working on, but it was just about the coolest thing I’ve ever done as a professional. Suffice it to say we were developing models for some not to be discussed application and the EEs were basically building chips on the fly hardcoding the models using a micro controller simulator. Was some bad ass shit.

I’m not an engineer but of all the engineering disciplines I’ve worked with, EEs and CEs are the baddest of the bunch.

Since this is a Purdue thread, I will acknowledge that Purdue is one of a very few schools about which I can say that everyone I've met with a degree from there is pretty sharp. There's a bit of a sample size issue, obviously, but my experience tells me about the same that USN&WR does about a Purdue EE degree. Good for Sindelar.

What my experience also tells me is that an engineering degree from The Ohio State University takes a back seat to no one. I typed a great deal that I then deleted... All Ohio State fans need to know is that, when it comes to the engineering department, we don't take academic smack from anyone. A BSEE from Ohio State checks the box for education for any HR department that has a clue on life.
