Purdue Boilermakers (official thread)

1. Robert Marve is an idiot and is STILL over-rated as a QB.

Heh - Why ya think Shannon was like, "Yeah, OK Marvie - there's the fuggin' door."

He reminds me too much of Brock Berlin, and hell, even Kyle Wright.

Supposed saviors, but were just a flash-in-the-pan.

Like Brock, when he was on, he was ON. But when he wasn't, OMG what a shit-show. Good early in the season, but then consistent downward spiral as the 2nd half of the season progressed. Kinda' like Harris last year.

He's lost control and respect of the players this season with the way he's handled alot of situations and the boosters and fan base are ready to sacrifice him..lol...I like Danny as a person as he's a great down to Earth guy but his coaching has been less than half assed so far this season.

Purdue QB Marve granted 6th year

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP)—Purdue says that the NCAA has awarded Purdue quarterback Robert Marve a sixth year of eligibility, and he will play for the Boilermakers in 2012.

Marve missed all of the 2007 season, his true freshman year at Miami. He eventually transferred to Purdue and played just four games in 2010 after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in this left knee in the second quarter of a 31-20 loss to Toledo on Sept. 25.

This past season, he passed for 633 yards and four touchdowns while backing up Caleb TerBush. He scored the game-winning touchdown against Ohio State on a 1-yard run in overtime.

Marve is the third Boilermaker to be granted an additional season in the last four years, following defensive back Torri Williams in 2009 and linebacker Jason Werner in 2010.

Purdue dismisses Dwayne Beckford

Purdue has dismissed senior linebacker Dwayne Beckford following his latest arrest.
Boilermakers coach Danny Hope announced Beckford's dismissal following Wednesday's practice.
Hope had indefinitely suspended Beckford on Monday after he was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of paraphernalia and one count of possession of a synthetic drug stemming from an Aug. 20 incident.
Beckford has been arrested four times since June 2011. He was suspended for Purdue's bowl game in December and had his scholarship revoked, missing spring practice before being reinstated in May. Beckford ranked second on the team in tackles with 91 in 2011 and had been projected as Purdue's starting middle linebacker entering the 2012 season.
