Purdue Series from Nick Swisher Field @ Bill Davis Stadium Columbus, OH

KRAKOOOOM!

Great job boys! Beating Andrews ain’t easy. Curlis was a bit wild but he battled hard for 6 solid innings. He threw a season high 114 pitches. And then of course kinker comes in for his now standard 3 inning save.

Pretty awesome to see a squeeze play from our guys plate a run. Pretty awesome to throw out a guy trying to steal home too.

A lot of ducks left on the pond again... still just not quite right at the plate. Gotta wonder if the big dip in strikeouts over recent weeks has played a part in the bats cooling off. On the season we are avg 7.5 ks per game...that’s down from nearly 11 per game immediately following the Iowa series.

Bo Coolen got his second straight start at 1B with Pohl back at 3B. Nice to see the senior step up tonight with a key hit.

Gotta wonder where Feltner’s head will be tomorrow after that Wednesday debacle. Hopefully he’ll bounce back .

Season high crowd of about 1900 tonight

Eventful day in the league.....

Purdue had the nations longest winning streak....snapped
Meatchicken had a18 game home winning streak...snapped
Minnesota stunned at home by Sparty
Northwestern upset Iowa
Indiana lost again so that’s 8 losses in their last 9 games

Madness

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State baseball team scored 15 unanswered runs to win its final home series over Purdue, 16-6, Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. Down 6-1, the Buckeyes plated two in the fifth, four in the sixth, two in the seventh and seven in the eighth to improve to 33-17 overall and 13-8 in Big Ten play. The Boilermakers drop to 30-18 overall and 14-7 in conference action. Right-handed reliever Austin Woodby was the unsung hero for the boys, throwing 2.2 scoreless innings on two hits and one walk to improve to 4-0 on the year. Sophomore shortstop Noah West had a career day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with four runs scored, five RBI, double, walk and grand slam. Went to Saturdays game so it looks like we picked the wrong one to attend! oh well still a great time with my Dad and we were 2 rows behind home plate. Feltner hit 96 a few times on the gun according to the Purdue staffers sitting behind us. Also sat near a Washington Nationals scout looking at Ryan. all in all good series! Go Bucks!

These guys ain’t no joke on sundays! Hard to believe they managed to go 7-5 over these 12 league games. This has been the best in league season of the Beals years. We usually make our hay vs the weaker teams in the league but not this year.

Purdue might have the best bullpen in the b10 and we chewed it up Sunday. That’s only the second time all year a Purdue starter left the game with the lead and Purdue didn’t win.. Hopefully the offense can continue the momentum built late in Sunday’s game because Cincinnati will be the best midweek opponent we’ve faced. Their RPI doesn’t reflect how good they’ve been.

The Cincinnati game will be streamed live by them for free at 11am. Hopefully Vance can give us a few good innings...been a struggle for him his last 3 appearances.

The Bucks are in great shape for an at large at the moment, but they aren’t a lock yet. Gotta finish
