QB Chris Chugunov (Official Thread)

He's dicey at best and we are past the teams on the schedule that OSU could possibly beat without Fields.

Agreed there... mostly... the D can be lights out any given Saturday and squeeze a win behind Dobbins and Teague. But it would be in spite of QB play.
I just don't think the stat sheet reflects his passing. He made some good downfield throws... 5 and 6 were having bad days on special teams and offense. It happens, they're freshmen.

More important than his passing ability and I'm not sure we have enough data to evaluate it (although I imagine the staff does) is his game management ability. We won a national championship with Craig Krenzel. It can be done with an elite defense and running game. We could POSSIBLY do it with Chugunov. I would've liked to see him get more minutes with the first team against MD or Rutgers.

Lots of love for the starter showing the durability and toughness to come back in and throw a dime

Here’s a shout out to the guy who made that possible by coming in ice cold on a cold, rainy day and kept the drive alive while Justin was in the tent.

As much as we hope he never starts a game, he was called on in The Game and he answered the call. Glad he’s a Buckeye.

Chug one for Chug.

Converted a 3rd down on the throw to KJ

I actually did chug one after that throw along with some other alumni. And then maybe a few more, who the hell knows? That was a hell of a play in a crucial moment.
