QB CJ Stroud (All B1G, 2022 B1G QB of the Year, All-American, NFL OROY, Houston Texans)

excited to see Emeka finally make a splash too. The ST's TD drought ends next year as Emeka takes one to the house.

Meh,I’d rather him score in the offense, but I see what you’re saying. I’m seeing STs becoming more irrelevant in terms of the return game.

I see Emeka taking a JSN-esque jump. Dude probably would have destroyed it this year if he needed to play. JSN, Harrison Jr and Egbuka are just going to be damn fun to watch with Stroud.

You’re forgetting about Fleming. A healthy Fleming is a damn good WR and a strength mismatch against smaller CBs

Definitely forgot Fleming, he started to come on last year once he got healthy. That's really the biggest thing with him, I get the feeling he hasn't been 100% during the regular season since he's been here.

JSN probably won't leave the field, but an outside rotation of MHjr, Fleming and Egbuka(who can play inside or outside) is a crazy amount of talent.

On Monday, three young Scarlet and Gray players were awarded for their production this season when the Football Writers Association of American released the 2021 Freshman All-American team. Quarterback C.J. Stroud, running back TreVeyon Henderson and cornerback Denzel Burke were all named to the FWAA's Freshman All-American team.

I’m completely disgusted. The Manning Award has named Bryce Young as the 2021 recipient.

Passing efficiency: Stroud 2nd to McCall with 186.56, Young 7th with 167.52.

ESPN’s hokey QBR: Stroud 91.6, Young 87.6. 6th place was Rising at 84.2, so the margin between 1st and 2nd was a big one.

The Manning Award supposedly includes performances in bowl games. Bryce Young’s only TD drive in the final game consisted of 3 yards passing, 10 total yards, and 6 penalty yards. His only TD in regulation against Auburn occurred after Tank Bigsby foolishly ran out of bounds, allowing the extra time needed.

For those who don’t remember, Stroud threw for 573 yards and a Rose Bowl record 6 TDs. And he did it without a pair of first round NFL draft picks who sat out that game. And he brought his team from behind, rather than throwing a late pick-6 that clinched the game for his opponent.

But C.J. doesn’t play in the same conference that Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning did.

BIG TEN CONFERENCE
10808579.jpeg

The pick: C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State

Others in the running: Braelon Allen, RB, Wisconsin; TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State; Nick Herbig, LB, Wisconsin; Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State; Blake Corum, RB, Michigan

The facilitator for one of the nation's most explosive offenses? This one's easy — or at least that's the expectation. Stroud was a Heisman finalist last season and may have won the award had the Buckeyes beaten Michigan on the road en route to a Big Ten Championship, but it didn't happen. Those who watched the Rose Bowl saw how special the Stroud-Smith Nijigba connection is going to be in 2022 for a team hungry to get back on top in the conference. If Wisconsin or Michigan wins the Big Ten, keep an eye on those teams' stars.
