QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. (All B1G, B1G OPOY, Silver Football, Rose Bowl MVP, R.I.P.)

good grief there are some idiots in this thread.

ONE 400 yard game in Ohio State history, from 1879 to 2017. this guy has how many this season? five?

47 TD passes, and 4 TD runs. that adds up to 51 TD last time i checked.

he's the best QB in Ohio State history, and it isn't close. he could legitimately break JT's career TD record NEXT YEAR.

another 400 yard game in the Rose Bowl, and he will have 5,000 passing yards this season.
does anyone know how many NFL QBs have thrown for 5k in a season? you can count them on one hand. four guys have done it once.
one guy has done it 5 times.

Didn't think I'd ever see an Ohio State quarterback lead the nation in passing yards and touchdown passes
You still haven't. Per the latest NCAA stats, Minshew from Wazzu leads with 373 ypg, while Dwayne is #2 at 352 ypg (which is 1 ypg ahead of #3 Grier from WVU). Dwayne does lead the nation in TD passes with 47, seven ahead of Murray from OU.

EDIT: Apparently Dwayne does lead the nation in passing yardage with 4580 and Minshew is second with 4478, but I was going by ypg instead of total yards. The passing TD total I posted above are correct, however. So you were correct.

I can easily stomach being left out of the playoff but I’m really going to struggle with Tua being handed the Heisman on a silver platter. Haskins just objectively churned out one of the most dominant seasons ever against outstanding competition.

Mother fuck that’s going to piss me off. Chances are we never see anything like that again.
90% of the Heisman votes were still out before the games Saturday. Don't be surprised that Murray ends up winning it, after Tua shit the bed before getting hurt and Murray lit up Texas. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see Dwayne end up in 2nd and Tua 3rd...

at this point with the way ESPN drives the national narrative on CFB....I would be surprised to see Haskins get any respect.

Wouldn't shock me if he doesn't even get an invite.

Mind you, I am not saying he isn't deserving. I am saying ESPN and Ohio State....don't just apply logic. It doesn't work like that.

Let's remember that Dwayne Haskins was not even made a FINALIST for any major national award. NONE. That's embarrassing and telling of what is to come. Tua is a lock for #2 based on his past great performances (although I think his bad game against Georgia should be a big detractor) and, you know, SEC.

Murray is a fantastic player and totally deserving of the Heisman. I'm hoping he beats Tua out for it. But I'm still taking Dwayne every day of the week if I need a QB for my team.

Keith Jackson once described Ken Dorsey () as "The cool dude who drives...this bus". I think that is 100x more applicable to Haskins, except Haskins drives a Buggati or somethin', not a bus.

Haskins will get the last laugh after he goes to the NFL (hopefully after another season in C-bus). Although the MLB pays better and has more longevity than the NFL so Murray will probably be the one to make out in the end as far as the bank is concerned. I would argue being a top NFL QB is more prestigious than being a slightly above average baseball player.
