QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. (All B1G, B1G OPOY, Silver Football, Rose Bowl MVP, R.I.P.)

Just in a bar for lunch, had ESPN on with no sound (thankfully).

Heisman segment came on and all the highlights were of Tua and Murray. Cut to the medidiot and his analysis was between Tua and Murray. Graphics displayed were Tua vs Murray.

I am shocked that Haskins was even invited. He isn't winning anything.
The only mystery is...did more people vote while ESPN was telling them Tua was Jesus, or after the SEC game.

Taken from NCAA stats site:

Haskins:
Rush: 73 carries for 122 yards and 4 TDs
Pass: 348-496-8 (70.2%), 4580 yards (#1), 47 TDs (#1)
Total: 4702 yards (#3), 51 TDs (T-#1)

Murray:
Rush: 123 carries for 892 yards and 11 TDs
Pass: 241-340-7 (70.9%), 4053 yards (#3), 40 TDs (#2)
Total: 4945 yards (#1), 51 TDs (T-#1)

Tagovailoa:
Rush: 48 carries for 190 yards and 5 TDs
Pass: 199-294-4 (67.7%), 3353 yards (#14), 37 TDs (#4)
Total: 3543 yards (#26), 42 TDs
Take Haskins/Murray off their squads, and they lose 3 more games at a minimum. Does Bama lose a single game with Hurts? Doubtful.

Riley's system is stellar, but that QB didn't get to the league and then have his comeuppance. He's doing pretty well, on the freaking Browns.
I’ll add the word YET (lots of folks look great the first year) anyways I digress..

to me if you take one QB out and put another in and puts up similar numbers then to be fair its a system... Riley’s system is really good and both Baker and Kyler are really good but if you remove one or the other there’s been 0 change .... JT to Haskins to Martell... night and day... Tua to Hurts night and day but I have a feeling most of us could make those throws...

Kyler was a 5 star prospect and an incredibly gifted professional athlete. It's not that hard to believe he's more than a system player

If Murray wins, what was the last school to produce consecutive Heisman winners wherein the winners are different quarterbacks?

I know USC had Bush/Leinart but consecutive quarterbacks is rather remarkable.
No school has done that. Closest was USC with Palmer in 2002 and Leinart in 2004.

The answer would be none.

Closest was USC having QB's win it in '02 and '04 with Palmer/Leinart

EDIT

Although USC had 3 straight years of a running back

1979 USC Charles White
1980 USC (east) George Rodgers
1981 USC Marcus Allen

Tua is 5-7 rounds better than Hurts, but they can win with both.
Oklahoma won by a tiny margin in 4 straight games. Do they pull all of those out with their next guy? Hard to say.

It's not hard to say whether Tate could maintain this level of success, particularly since him starting under Urban would likely require 200-300 hits on his smaller frame.

yes there is still one game to be played...Kyler is a talent but lets not act like there aren’t a lot of QBs who could do what he did in that offense. Baker was a walk on did that.. Just saying that when 2 different QBs put up ~ the same numbers in back to back years... there is a “schematic advantage”

I think I heard during the BIG 10 CG broadcast, which was the last of the CCG's that evening, that 10% of the votes had been casted already. I don't understand why that number isn't 0% and why voters don't wait until all the games have been completed and the statistics and team records are set before casting a vote, especially in the games that matter the most. Unless you are on the CFP committee, of course, and they don't mean anything at all. Or maybe Tua's numbers in week 11 vs. the Citadel were convincing enough to hold off Murray? I had to get another jab in there....lol.
