QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. (All B1G, B1G OPOY, Silver Football, Rose Bowl MVP, R.I.P.)

Give him 1 quarter next game... just 1. That's all

I would like to see that, too. Or even just a series or two like Tressel used to do where he would bring the backup QB in early in the 2nd quarter. Give him a chance to run the O with the first team in a game that isn't over yet.

Just find out what he is... it can't hurt because if it continues to sink as many suspect will once we face a quality opponent we need to know what we have

Was at a viewing party and we were all in agreement that Meyer doesn't want to get Haskins in too early because he may then have a problem on his hands.

Get him in too early, he runs the risk of Haskins lighting it up and having an ever bigger problem to deal with.

He looked real sharp going 4 for 4 for 46 yards.

Haskins couldn't come into the game last week (or the week before despite leading in the 4th quarter by 21-28 points), because he wasn't 'game ready.' Evidently, Haskins learned a substantial amount over the past couple of practices; hence, he was suddenly allowed to showcase his exceptional throwing ability and newfound knowledge of how to run an offensive. I haven't seen Dwayne exhibit such command of an offense and accurate passes since, well...the spring game.

OSU is lucky to have such a skilled backup QB (who would probably have been considered ‘game ready’ enough to start the season on at least 100 cfb teams).

My only worry with him is can he run he read option and pull it and get some yards when needed.

I thought this is why we hired Kevin Wilson? Does he need to run read option in theory?

Can u imagine Haskins pulling the trigger at IU under Wilson, or running the Oklahoma offense the year Jason White won the Heisman?

I mean, I get the thought process, but Haskins might be the perfect opportunity to show the world how Meyer can let go of some control, and allow an offense to be built around the talent of his QB rather than forcing his QB into a box.

Anyways, Haskins has major arm talent which was so nice to see. He snaps the ball and it's on target in a hurry....can't wait to see more of him.

He's a better pure passer than Barett but we knew that before this game

Water is also wet.

Haskins has been touted as the best pure passer Meyer has seen....mop up duty or not, dude was on the money.

Can you imagine an offense in which Dobbins can run with an actual threat of a downfield attack?!?! We're talking 175 yards a game for him now with no threat....the thought of Victor, Hill, Mack and Baugh slicing up the secondary and Dobbins gouging them is too much. The bottom line is Barrett being the best leader is only thing holding this decision back, then again a team with 9 captains or however many can probably survive with Barrett not starting.

I got reamed for calling BS on the "not game ready" crap.
