QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. (All B1G, B1G OPOY, Silver Football, Rose Bowl MVP, R.I.P.)

Efficiency: 156.57 against a good defense in spite of several drops.

That’s a Troy Smith level performance

Troy Smith as a senior that is

Upon further reflection, this just blows me away.

This was the first time ever that a credible opponent had time to game plan for him and try to confuse him. Gary Patterson might be one of the five most respected defensive minds in college football. He had a crack at Dwayne in the youngster's 3rd-ever start and did his best to confuse him. Dwayne produced a very good efficiency rating anyway.

Preseason, many were calling Trace McSorely the best QB in the B1G. Dwayne did better against TCU than McSorely has averaged against App St, Pitt and Kent St. ...in his 3rd-ever start. ...while dealing with low snaps all night.

I counted five definite drops (although there are 2 or 3 more that could be added to that total) for 39 yards and a touchdown.

If those catches were made, Haskins would have been 29/38 for 383 yards and 3 TDs, for a passer efficiency rating of 187.03.

Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa a sizable favorite in Bovada Heisman odds

The true sophomore’s two main betting competitors at the moment, West Virginia quarterback Will Grier and Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins, saw their odds lengthen a bit at 13/2 and 7/1, respectively. Grier had been at 9/2 a week ago, Haskins at 13/2.

Haskins’ teammate, running back J.K. Dobbins, made one of the biggest jumps as he has gone from 50/1 to 20/1.

Re: Nick Bosa "off the board"

Apparently they believe that the groin injury shot Bosa's chances.

Mr. Haskins completed his last 6 passes against TCU.

I'm calling it. Among the records he will break this year, he will break both the season and game completion streak records. JT Barrett currently holds both (16 - all of the completions in his streak came in one game).

If someone were to set up a vBet for it, I'd put my v$ on > 20.

His Heisman chances will take another hit this weekend. I’d be shocked if he played more than a half against Tulane.

I say it every year about someone: His assault on the record book or his Heisman chances etc will be hurt by the fact that his performance will contribute to a blow-out that will result in his PT being limited. Heismans have gone to a lot of guys who padded stats rather than riding the bench in blow outs. Even if the OSU coaching staff were inclined to do that (they're not) they would refrain because of our depth issues at that position.

Tua is the only quarterback in America that I would want over Haskins, and that's only because it's college football we're talking about. Haskins is the better passer, no doubt. But Tua is pretty damn good in that department, but with waaaaaaaaaaaay better legs. If I were drafting a QB though, both are top 5 talents IMO but I'd take Haskins #1, Tua #2.
