DWAYNE HASKINS BREAKS OHIO STATE'S SINGLE-SEASON RECORD FOR PASSING TOUCHDOWNS

Dwayne Haskins continues to rewrite Ohio State's passing record books.

With three touchdown passes in Saturday's game against Maryland, Haskins has now thrown for 36 touchdowns this season, breaking Ohio State's single-season school record for touchdown passes set last year by J.T. Barrett.

Haskins broke the record with a big touchdown to Binjimen Victor to tie the game late in the fourth quarter against Maryland.

Haskins only needed 11 games to break the record that Barrett set in 14 games. With at least two games remaining on Ohio State's schedule, Haskins has a chance to become the Buckeyes' first quarterback to ever throw 40 touchdown passes in a season.

Haskins also broke Ohio State's single-season record for passing yards on Saturday.

He sure did (aside from the "butt fumble"). It's a damn shame that his performance was almost overshadowed by an absolutely repulsive performance by our back seven on defense...

Not only that but he was routinely making throws down the field today. Sure some of them his WR had to wait on but they felt like 50 60 yard throws in the air. It's more about being late to throw then arms strength at that point.

For me that was the most impressive part today. Seemingly came out of nowhere and you can be sure michigan will take notice.

It was a huge step up from the rest of the year. We all knew he'd never be a natural runner like Barrett, but he was so tentative when running that it made it pointless for him to carry it. But this is a huge step up. If he can keep turning those -1 yard runs into 3-5 yards and get TDs in the RZ...it makes this offense much more dangerous.

Even bigger for me was he was getting outside the pocket when pressure came and making throws on the run. A lot of QBs would have tucked it and got 10 he threw consistently for 20 down field or more. Included the great pass to Dixon that got wiped out cause he stepped out before making the catch.

Great progression yesterday in “blending” into an Urban offesnse. Not sure if the progression in the run game was schemed, out of necessity to eek out a W or inspiration from playing in front of his home state, family and friends. Was thrilled to see this part of his game develop and encouraging for this weeks matchup.

Yes. Doesnt mean I dont like the kid and not questioning his heart but it takes a lot more than throwing from one hash to the other in the league. The throws behind recievers get picked every time next level.

Dude what’s your deal! He’s gonna have bad throws as many times as he throws it! These last few games have had wind to factor in especially on deeper throws! He’s not doing as well with pressure and on some throws he’s not putting the right touch on it. But dude you have to chill, he can make perfect deep ball passes, i’ve seen him do it many times. He just has to work on consistancy! You’re creatiquing the hell out of a guy who’s 3rd in the country passing and carrying the team on his back. Why don’t you go bitch about the defense, because they are the primary problem not the offense.

There's not enough time in the month to critique the defense. Sorry your feelings are hurt

Not hurting my feelings man, just wondering why you’re whining about the best part of this team. You’re the only one complaining about Haskins! 3rd in the country in passing and breaking all J.T.’s records with 3 less games.
It's not whining, and I've never discounted his production at tOSU. I questioned his regression over the season and how it translates to the pros. His arm maybe strong enough but it takes more than that at the next level and I've seen some throws lately that wont fly against good college competition let alone NFL DB's.
His crossing routes were dead on beginning of the year and have become passes that he throws behind receivers lately. The Pick 6's are killers. He's missed wide open guys lately that he didnt miss early on. Competition is better but still not great considering. I'm willing to have discussion all day about what I think is in good shape and what isnt. Stats aren't the be all end all of things, though his are great. Remember the hem-hawing about JT's stats in certain games? Only the names have changed.

Except he doesn't. You're taking a one or two game sample and projecting it out o the whole season. The only wide open guy he "missed" yesterday were one where Dixon stepped out on his own and one where Olave turned the wrong direction and alligator armed a perfect throw. You pointed out the Pick 6's he's had 2 of them all year one late the debacle against Purdue when he was clearly forcing things and one against Maryland. You have no objectivity on this an need to step back and take a look at things again. If you think Haskin's passing stats are equivalent to JT's in anyway you are off your rocker.
