QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. (All B1G, B1G OPOY, Silver Football, Rose Bowl MVP, R.I.P.)

First year redshirt, second year played some, third year damn near theismann trophy.

Most of us forget that yes he showed signs in his second year but he was a different dude his 3rd year. He would throw a dime to Saunders on one play and would throw a pick 6 on the next. He would show up huge against ttun but then fumble for a score against Illinois. So yeah I would say it took him 3 years.

Meanwhile JF comes in and kills it year 1. Makes you wonder a bit about DH.

I love Dwayne but I'm open to the idea that he's a hugely talented kid that maybe needs to mature a bit. However him being benched after a 300yd passing game and 70% is horse shit I'll definitely say that.
You're missing a pretty big reason why he wasn't on the field until season 3. By this logic, Joe Burrow took too long to learn the playbook, too.

The Bucks had a better team and coach that year. Joe would have been fine better in the zone read than DH.
Yep ... ah yes ... better coach so you take a pocket passer and make him run your zone read style offense... sounds like a brilliant coach to me.... Joe woulda been run into the ground much the way JT was with the way Urban loved his QB power.

It’s been a tumultuous week for Washington Football Team quarterback Dwayne Haskins. He was demoted to the bench in favor of Kyle Allen, and Sunday morning it was reported by CBS Sports’ Jason LaCanfora that he’s expected to be traded before the NFL trade deadline.

According to multiple reports, Haskins will not be with the team today. He was scheduled to be inactive, but a source tells JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington that Haskins informed Washington he felt sick this morning and the team told him to stay home.

Citing "multiple sources within the organization," La Canfora reported that the team believes a trade involving Haskins is a "most likely outcome" before October's end. The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 3.

La Canfora added that rival executives around the league have already gotten a head start on studying film of Haskins with the expectation of Washington making a move at some point in these next few weeks. According to La Canfora, citing sources in Haskins' camp, he has been advised that a trade would be "far and away the best outcome possible," with the hope of a situation involving a stable franchise for the 23-year-old quarterback learning behind.

Bumped down to third-string quarterback on the depth chart, taking a seat behind Allen (starter) and veteran Alex Smith (backup), Haskins is at a disadvantage for the reps needed to remain involved with Washington's position competition. Per La Canfora, Rivera's regime was not high on Haskins as a 2019 NFL Draft prospect and the former Ohio State star's personality "has rubbed them the wrong way."

La Canfora further explained that sources in touch with Washington staff members said Haskins was only the starter because owner Daniel Snyder saw him as a favorite. Snyder's children attended Potomac (Md.) The Bullis School, where Haskins first rose to stardom as a four-star recruit as the 247Sports Composite's No. 91 overall prospect and No. 7 pro-style quarterback in 2016.

"What they'll tell you in that building is that he is a project who was drafted by the owner and his son," a source told La Canfora. "That's the bottom line there. Allen is their guy. They think he fits their system. They didn't really want anything to do with Haskins from the beginning."

After today I think hthere can be no doubt Washington is a shit organization. If he he ws dogging it sure bench him but don't leak to press that he was dogging it. Especially when he looks like your best QB. All you succeeded in doingwas burn bridges so bad there i likely no coming back even if Kyle Allen and Alex Smith continue to stink and you tanked his trade value... What a bunch of short sighted morons. And if Rivera thinks the team he saw out there today si going to compete for the playoff even in such a shit division I don't know what to tell him.

I remember this convo from 2016... no it was loyalty.

With that said he wasnt ready then and that was 2 years in for him. So 3 years is obvious.
So because he didn't supplant the heartbeat and leader of the team, he wasn't ready. Then magically, once that person was no longer on the team, he broke every record.

OK, USA.
