QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. (All B1G, B1G OPOY, Silver Football, Rose Bowl MVP, R.I.P.)

Haskins, Peterson dispute NFL Network report about confrontation

It was another frustrating game and another loss for the Washington Redskins on Thursday night, and now a couple of players are pushing back against what they claim are false reports about the locker room.

Rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins saw some action in the Redskins’ 19-9 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, and he continued to struggle. Haskins completed three of his five pass attempts for 33 yards and an interception. Thus far, Haskins hasn’t settled in at the NFL level, and he doesn’t look like the player Washington drafted with the No. 6 overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.

On the NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” NFL insider Mike Garafalo reported that veteran running back Adrian Peterson went to Haskins and got onto him for not knowing the playbook.

“After the game, I am told that he mentioned to Dwayne Haskins, ‘Get your nose in the playbook and learn these plays. Everyone thinks you don’t know them. You’re proving them right. It is time to study the playbook. Know these things inside, outside, frontwards, backwards, and everything you can,’” Garofolo said. “If Adrian Peterson is telling you this, Dwayne Haskins, it’s time man. It’s time.”

There are a couple of people who are disputing Garofolo’s report, and they are pretty familiar with the story. That story reached both Peterson and Haskins on Twitter, and both players denied that Peterson said those things to Haskins. Peterson requested that Garofolo not report any words that the running back doesn’t say himself and reaffirmed his believe in Haskins.

“If you didn’t hear something direct from me, please don’t attribute it to me,” Peterson tweeted. “I believe in Dwayne and his potential. With more time, support & commitment, he can grown like any other rookie player.”

Haskins was a little more blunt with his comments on social media. The Washington quarterback just dismissed it as a false story conjured up by the sports media world.

“Please don’t involve me in this bs media narrative,” Haskins tweeted.

It’s already been a tough year for the Redskins, so those players probably don’t want to deal with media reports about locker room confrontations, regardless of their validity. It’s been especially tough on Haskins, who has had a hard time with the transition to the pro game. Haskins is 12-of-22 with 140 yards, zero touchdowns, and four interceptions on the season.

Dwayne Haskins Claps Back At Teammate’s Ohio State Comment

The first College Football Playoffs rankings of the 2019 season emerged on Tuesday night. Ohio State had the honor of receiving the No. 1 spot in the country.

LSU has an incredible resume through the first two months of the season, but the selection committee clearly thinks Ohio State is the better team right now. Redskins tailback Derrius Guice disagrees with that narrative.

Guice went on Twitter to complain about the College Football Playoff rankings. He wrote “Ohio State shouldn’t be over LSU just saying.”

Dwayne Haskins quickly came to the defense of his Buckeyes, replying “Boy you crazy.”

Since the former Ohio State quarterback sounds pretty confident about his school, Guice told him to bet on the Buckeyes winning the national championship.

Instead of making a friendly wager with his teammate, Haskins jokingly called Guice a “pocket watcher.”

Check out the hilarious exchange between the former Buckeye and Tiger:
