QB Joe Burrow (transfer to LSU, 2019 Heisman Winner, National Champion, Cincinnati Bengals)

Burrow's stat line is not very good. Granted, he's played two great defenses in Auburn and Miami, but he's completed only 46% of his passes for 540 yards and 3 TDs. His stats amount to an average game of 12-26 for 180 yds, 1 TD and 1.66 sacks. If LSU's defense was not playing lights out, their fans would be calling for the backup QB.

Well, they'd be calling in vain since they all quit when JB got the gig. :slappy:

Eh, most coaches are worried about this stat: he's 3-0, including wins on the road against a top 10 team and in a neutral site game against another top 25 team. You also left out that he's thrown zero interceptions, which is pretty impressive for a guy making his first three career starts, away from his home field and against some rather formidable competition.

No doubt. I was just surprised after reading the articles this week and then looking up his stats.

Just seems like a QB cannot have a good stat line at LSU, which is sort of why I was curious about the selection. He is definitely getting to play on a high level and getting a lot of the spotlight, but it is going to be tough putting up the numbers in that offense. In any event, glad to see him get such big wins early on.

JOE BURROW ON OHIO STATE FANS CHEERING HIM ON: “I THOUGHT IT WAS REALLY, REALLY COOL”

Joe Burrow may not be at Ohio State anymore, but even as LSU's current starting quarterback, he's clearly beloved by Buckeye nation.

Burrow received an abundance of support from his former Buckeye teammates during his first start and win over No. 8 Miami, and had the backing of Ohio State fans in AT&T Stadium who cheered him on during LSU's comeback win over No. 7 Auburn as the game played over the giant video board.

Burrow's wearing a different uniform now, but told Shea Dixon of Geaux247 that he still loves his home state and the Buckeye fans, appreciates the support.

"I thought that was really, really cool," Burrow said. "I enjoyed my time there a lot I love the place, love the people and love the fans. It really meant a lot to me that they showed love like that. I saw the tweet, then my mom actually sent it to me. I’m sure she cried about it, because she’s a cryer, and she gets really happy. But, I thought that was really cool."
