Not doubting you, but why in the hell would Tupa be booed?

I was at the game, but I don't remember the booing. I was 11. I remember that he was pretty unpopular. At that point in the year, the Buckeyes were 5-3-1, and having a pretty miserable end of the season. I think they had lost to Indiana that year.

But to get back on topic, my point is that I'm going to continue to support Bauserman. If he's the only quarterback to get snaps all season for Ohio State, then I really hope he can figure "it" out. Braxton Miller may or may not be the future at Ohio State - that's probably better argued in another thread. Joe Bauserman may or may not be the present at Ohio State - this may be the right thread, but I have nothing to say one way or the other. I just hope that he is remembered for being a great Buckeye, and that he remembers his years at Ohio State well.

I agree with Zurp. I'll cheer for Joe's success and for that of the team. My enthusiasm and cheering has nothing to do with whom I'd prefer to see playing. They're all Buckeyes, and I'm a Buckeye fan - win or lose.

Deja vu all over again.

Not sure if anyone else has brought this up yet....but this "kind of" reminds me of the situation we had a while back with the Todd Boeckman/Freshman T. Pryor situation. Me thinks just a matter of time before the talented Freshman replaces the senior QB.

*I know, Boeckman did have a lot more success than Bauserman...but still, it's kind of like we have seen this before.

Had more success?? He brought them to a National Championship game. Bauserman made the Akron look like a NC game.

Now that Brax is starting, I hope we can allow Joe a little "off" time. He had a terrible game last week and didnt handle it well. Lets move on to supporting Brax and if Joe gets into the game show the same type of support. Its all well and good to critique a guy but lets take a break now and get positive again. The program needs its fans as much as we need the program right now. Be positive again and take this week as a new opportunity to Buck Up and support our boys. Each and every one on the roster.

Joe B has been and will continue to be an important factor in the development of QB and offensive play this year and for the last several years. Whether or not he sees much time on the field, what happens on the field will have been at least in part his doing. Thanks Joe for your role in this transition. We are better for your being there. Looking forward to senior day.

Beanie Wells brought them to the title game...

Boeckman was first team All-Big Ten. A bunch of that credit goes to Wells - with him on the field it forced defenses to stop Wells. Boeckman had more passing room. Yes, Wells was the main reason they made it to the title game, but it's still a big deal when an incoming freshman (Pryor) takes the starting spot away from a senior (Boeckman), when the senior was a first team All-Big Ten.

Bauserman is not Boeckman. Miller is not Pryor. And Darth Vader is not a used car salesman. The similarities between 2008 and 2011 are no more than the freshman/senior similarities.
