Wow! I thought for sure he was headed to Ohio. I believe his dad is a coach at Ohio.

Yes! This is the type of guy we need. He can distribute the ball to all of the various playmakers that are on the roster.
Congrats Joe and welcome to Buckeye Nation!

I do not care that he is not that highly ranked by the national guys by not having 4-5*. This kid is a baller and will be a nice addition to the Ohio State football program plus he is a excellent student. Welcome to the Buckeye family Joe :groove:
  6. One of the guys at 247 said that they really haven't seen him in person, but like what they've seen on film. He's going to be at some camp on Monday where they'll get a better look and possibly move up.

I just watched his junior film, and while I always find it difficult when you have such a range in class between divisions he looked pretty darn impressive. Didn't have a lot of zip on the ball, but on the few throws where it was needed it looked like he can do it. Release isn't too long and can get the ball out quickly if needed. Not a blazer, but very surprisingly shifty. Like, there were a few times where i was like

I'd like to say I'm underwhelmed with Joe, simply because he's not a "national guy", but after watching his film, the kid looks like a diamond in the rough. Surprisingly quick with a little bit of juke, throws a decent ball, handles pressure well and looks like he excels under it, does well to get out of tight situations... definetly a guy we can work with. He's the type of guys Northwestern covets and has running their offense every year... and that skill set lends itself well to an Urban Meyer type of offense. Gotta love having an Ohio QB running Ohio State's offense too.

Welcome to the Buckeye Family, Joe!! Hoping this is the start of big things to come.

This. I don't think you need to be all-world elite level talent to be an effective QB in Urban's offense. As brilliant as it is for Braxton to be a threat to take it to the house on a given play, you can win with the right guy who just runs the offense.

This is the guy I was hoping we would offer for the past year. Awesome! Congrats Mr Burrow for working hard and seeing your dreams come true!

Very glad Joe Burrow is a Buckeye. Didn't really know that the Buckeye Staff was recognizing his talents since we were hearing about other QBs. This is the QB I wanted. All's well, ends well.

Could be wrong, but I believe this is the first Ohio QB that Urban's offered, not withstanding the "offer" to the kid that ended up at UNC and Zaire, who was offered by Tressel.
