QB Justin Fields (2019-20 B1G Off POY, 2020 Silver Football, 2019 B1G CCG MVP, Pittsburgh Steelers)

OSU, Fields, and especially Fields lawyer knew this was a foregone conclusion. They don't ease Tate out the door if there was any concern over this. Fields lawyer confidently stated this situation would be resolved favorably by early February.

Everyone knew the NCAA wanted no part of this smoke.....it'd be a PR disaster to deny the kids transfer after being called the worst of the worst by a baseball player.

So, not to start this hype train prematurely, but Fields has to be high up on that Heisman favorite list going into next season, yeah? His skill set with Day's coaching pedigree...

The two most hyped qbs i can remember as a fan are TP2 and Braxton. Both of them were largely based off of raw potential as both were (different kinds of) freak athletes who were far from refined as throwers. Fields has similar, if not quite as freakish, athleticism but is far more refined as a passer. Both Brax and TP2 had excellent careers on the field, but both were much bigger threats with their legs than they ever were with their arms. I see Fields having similar passing potential to Haskins. I'm not saying you plug him in and watch him toss 5000 yards and 50 TDs, but he could very well get in that ballpark; if not in 2019, then 2020. Plus add in a little extra with his legs, which was never in Haskins wheel house.

Tl; dr...I CANNOT wait to see Fields in this offense.

Dwayne put that up because:

1) He was one of the best passers this league has ever seen. Justin is unlikely to match that.
2) He cannot run at all. Justin can and will.
3) OSU struggled to run most of the year. Unless the OL development stalls, I doubt that repeats itself, now that the numbers are balanced again (11v11 after QB hands off).
4) The defense should not be historically bad again, allowing Justin to leave in the 3rd quarter often enough

5000 yds and 50 td is possible (though a bit nuts). Doing it through the air alone is not.
