Release: 07/19/2004

Tom has confirmed with multiple reliable sources that Five-Star Cincinnati Quarterback Rob Schoenhoft will commit to Ohio State this week. The other finalist was Michigan. Rob is Tom’s #1 QB in the Midwest and one of the best in the country. Rob will probably make it official early next week at the Elite 11 camp.

If true- Welcome Rob!!

This is one of those commits that I say hey - if Tressel wants him, he knows better than me. I just can't get past the completion percentage.

Though he is an Elite 11 QB so somebody with more ability to dissect QB's than me, thinks he is damn good. And since we got him, I'm happy.

In Tressel We Trust.

His completion percentage is skewed due to lack of catching ability by receivers and I'm being polite when I say that. His receivers lacked hands, speed, and route running. In the 7+ years that I've watched GCL football games, this group of receivers did not come close to being GCL material. To bad Michael Larkin wasn't a few years younger.

Lemonhead says RS to OSU, eh? If true, great.... I do recall, "Dwayne Jarrett will be a Buckeye" however.... On the other hand, the ND site did list RS as an OSU verbal... I'll let you make your own connection ....
dwayne jarrett was a buckeye, for a little while anyway. i've read as much from duane and others. yes, lemming is a douschebag, but the jarett thing wasn't entirely his fault...

Good news if true, I think he could be an AA or he could be a guy who never sees the field. Regardless, we kept him away from scUM and that is an important victory, because we face them every year, unlike U$C, who we might face once in the next 5 years.

I hope we get RS and then possibly bring in hartline and schliester next year if they warent an offer.

Man, I'll say one thing: Looking at St. Xavier's schedule, there's no doubt that RS will be facing TOP-NOTCH opposition...week after week. That has to be the toughest schedule in the state of Ohio and one of the toughest in the nation. If the kid performs well against those opponents, he's a solid prospect.
I'm going to go down and watch the game against St. Francis, from NY-that is Doug Worthington's team.

or Rocky Boiman-I still remember his catch to win the game against Moeller back in 97' or 98.
