Collier: 3-Star, #57 pos rank, 6'4, not many big school offers, OOS recruit

(Guiton: 3-Star, #53 pos rank, 6'2", not many big school offers, OOS recruit )

Good pick up by the Bucks. Hopefully he booms his senior year and has the rest of the collegiate coaches and recruiters smacking themselves for not offering.

I think Urb and Tom Herman are pickier than Tressel and company when it comes to QBs. I love Guiton and I'm glad he's a Buckeye, but I don't think he would have been offered by the new regime.

Troy Smith had no stars.

Really like Collier. He runs the zone read offense already. Kizer/Barker/Henderson, and even Allen to some degree just weren't the ideal type to run that offense. This offer also shows the staff would rather take someone less polished if that prospect exhibits higher upside and is a better fit.

Kid won the starting job over a SR last season, and is now an elite 11 finalist. Only going to get better.

Welcome to the Buckeye Nation! :osu:

Troy Smith was a 4* ATH and an elite 11 invitee as well.

Yes, Smith performed quite well at the Elite 11 as a matter of fact. Coaches and other QBs in attendance spoke extremely highly of his performance. Had his grades not been so iffy, he probably would have had offers from across the country.

2-star and unranked on Scout. I'm hoping that's because they haven't done their evals yet...

I'm surprised only because of the recent comments about OSU from Harris and the fact that he hasn't given a verbal anywhere yet. Staff must know something about that situation.

I was really hoping they were going to make one more run at Watson.

Take solace in the fact that Josh Harris and Alex Smith weren't elite recruits either, and Urban Meyer turning them into elite college QB's. Welcome aboard Mr. Collier!

I believe this is our second "Harvard" QB. I am having trouble finding it now, but I think we have a walk on that transferred from Harvard???

The Lee County High School rising senior confirmed to The Herald late Friday evening that he?s headed to Ohio State to play for two-time BCS National Champion head coach Urban Meyer, ending a fast and furious recruiting process that saw Collier go from one of the Top 100 QBs in the nation to one of the Top 10 ? all in just a few months.

Collier recently won the QB MVP at the Nike Football Training Camp tour in Atlanta.
