In the Haskins thread I’ve been keeping track of how many completions Dwayne needs to take over 2nd place (or first place) in consecutive completions in OSU history.

As for second place, I have mistakenly quoted the OSU archives that numerous players are currently tied at 12 completions in a row. This is out of date.

Tate is currently on a streak of 13 and is all alone in second place. If he completes his first 4 against the scary, teeth gritting, fist clenching green wave, Dwayne will be chasing Tate’s record, not JT’s.

If the defense took care of business in the first half, we would’ve seen quite a bit of Martell in the second half. He’ll get more reps this season.

My point is if they were trying to get him the record, then why not run one more play like the one before or some quick out to the WR. They don't have to score, just get four more yards. Otherwise, why was he in there? Why risk a freak injury even though the chance was remote? Makes no sense.

Tate will play a fairly significant role in at least one game before the end of this season and/or post season. You know there are many plays that are being refined which involve him and will be ready to use as needed.

Nebraska could be that game, they're absolutely terrible in all phases. Good for some nice Tate game reps

Hope to see him get some minutes against the Gophs. As the season progresses, it's looking more and more like he'll be the guy next year. He needs as much real-time action as we can get him.

If there is a game we see Tate play some meaningful time it might be tonight against Purdue. We have to get a spark in the run game, especially in short yardage situations. Time will tell.
