I think I said already, but turning 21 and going to South Beach with your friends from High School doesn’t seem like a recipe for doing the things you need to do on and off the field to prepare to be a Power 5 starting QB.

Amazing that he went to Miami to begin with... should've went home to UNLV if he wanted to play.

He's not going to beat out Williams and if he does he's not going to do well enough throwing to keep it.

He doesnt suck... but he doesnt deal well with competition... and didnt carry through with due diligence. He could have picked somewhere that didnt already recruit a qb of the future... but he did.
Wouldnt surprise me at all if either won the job... but i got a sneaking suspicion Tate blinks first.

Serious question- how heavy does the Miami offense rely on QB option or QB runs in general? The impression I have is not much. Is Miami going to tweak their entire system to highlight his strengths?

To be very honest, I am not sure how good he is. He looked moderately good against very weak competition early last year but also showed some signs of problems (e.g., under-thrown passes, too much juking and dancing for little gain). He looked terrible in The Game, but how much of that was play-calling and other player mistakes? The Tate package was not effective at all.

So, I don't know. He certainly has a sky-high, Tate Forcier-type of self-confidence. And he looks to have a Manziel-type flameout in his future, if he doesn't get over himself. I am just hoping that he does well at Miami, even if the start doesn't seem to match the hype.

He doesn't suck but he's never going to be an elite throwing QB... Any kid going to a top D1 school to another as a transfer is really risking it IMO.
