Disagree though that this is all of the sudden...

Most of the posters here (myself included) were pessimists regarding Tathans throwing ability.

I loved the kids ability to run and improvise though, and all he does is win which is underrated in a QB. Heck I wanted Tate to get in the game more to run the read and options as a change of pace.

That said no one thought he would light it up throwing

And no one shit all over him until he left. His abilities didn't change, so I find it pretty pathetic that adults can be so fickle just bc a kids jersey color changed.

Ehh... dont think its that he left.
Lots of people secretly pulling for LSU lately... or at least their Offense.
Nobody is much impressed by somebody who talks big and then bounces. If he had left w/o the twitter nonsense (i pray for the day twitter dies), it'd be a different atmosphere around him.

Yeah, this is me. I don't remember poor mouthing this guy recently but I do know that I thought it VERY weak sauce that Tate ran his mouth about being the Man here and then tucked tail and ran as soon as Fields was approved to come here. For me, that was a killer.

Whatever the reason, he was talented enough for people to be excited and hopeful.....then all of a sudden he can't throw and should be on a mid major. Did he slip in the bathtub and injure himself? Did monstars suck out his football abilities?

Well, he stopped playing on an Urban Meyer coached team - that is a very obvious and substantial change for evaluating him.

Pretty much everyone acknowledged from day one that he was an Urban Meyer guy, and more specifically he was a guy who could do well in Urban Meyer’s read option QB run heavy based system.

That was taken away from him through no choice of his own- which is unfortunate for him. At the same time, you don’t think that plays a huge part in people reevaluating how successful they think he can be- whether it was at Ohio State or somewhere else?

And on top of that, I get the strong impression he chose Miami for reasons other than it was a system he could thrive in. I’ve asked twice about that and am still waiting for someone to chime in on what Miami is going to run on offense.

I think it plays a part. I think the bigger part is our fanbase likes Buckeyes a lot more than non-Buckeyes, which sometimes shows itself in ugly ways *cough*talkingshitonhissister*cough*.

Or maybe people like to joke on the internet and respond in kind to anyone who seemingly takes a shot at Ohio or OSU. Go down the list of people who have publicly taken a shot at OSU...not many have gotten a pass. Even former players themselves. If Tate was still on the team and his sister said the same exact thing...the only thing that would stop the venom from flying is board rules. Just remember what some people were saying about Eli Apple's mom or anybody's parent when they are critical....while they are still on the team.

Not sure why you're taking internet jokes so personally or pretending like most OSU fans have some vendetta against Tathan and his sister.
